Someone had to ask....but how does this particular app get updated? Me---Iphone 6S+ and my AcuraLink app says it is app version 3.1.1. I don't see anything that shows an app update or even how to do one.

Open the "App Store" app (should be installed by default) and pick "Updates" at the bottom. This should bring up a list of all updates available for installed apps.
#7
Thank you. I did and it does not show any available updates. I can see in the App Store that 4.0 is the latest version available, updated from last version 3.1.1. Guess I'll just wait it out a couple days

Once I requested the update from the app page, it updated to 4.0.0 and it is functioning. It seems to be an improvement.

I had to search for the AcuraLink app in the App store, and the app page showed an available update. It didn't show up in the updates pane of the App Store. Dunno why.

BS aside, I get the sense that the AcuraLink app interacts with Car Play and who knows what else, so stability improvements could extend to other functions of the infotainment system.
Or I'm delusional.

I have yet to find a bug, and I used it for about 5 minutes. That's an improvement.

No current issues in day-to-day driving, but if I switch between navigation apps in CarPlay when I'm traveling, the princess gets very upset. Her audio stutters and her displays get confused.

They removed the iOS today screen widget that allowed you to start or unlock the car quickly. They also buried these common actions in a drawer on the new app. Very poor UX decision.
Huge loss, hope it’s reintroduced!

The update logged me out of my account for one, and then after logging back in claims that there are no vehicles registered.
Attempting to register said vehicle tells me that it is already linked to another account.... Not looking forward to having to call Acura to try and get this fixed....

Yeah there is a hidden drawer at the bottom of the app that you have to swipe up on to display the only useful functions of the app. Too bad they are prioritizing features that users don’t utilize multiple times a day.

Found it! So on Android, it is the same, but WHAT A HORRIBLE DESIGN!
To get to those options, you swipe up on the GREEN circled item, but if you accidentally swipe up on the RED item, it opens the Android running tasks. Acura put the two items too close together.
I think I will stick with the older version for now.

I find the map and “send to car” useful. The rest, not so much.

I live here in Canada and do not see a "Settings Option" for Metric Measurement e.g. Tire Pressure in kp or Cabin Temperature in Celius.
Am I missing something or are we not able to switch to Metric?

My trial subscription is still active for several more weeks and I've been debating if to actually get the subscription...But I don't see any green red bar... Doh... Time to downgrade app.

What the heck are all those other icons in the post by mattman3234? Partly cloudy? I feel so deprived.

I'm on iOS, but I see a drawer for our 2014 MDX that has full AcuraLink service ( aside from concierge ), and not for the 2019 RDX that is down to "Security" as it's called on this model.

If you try to just pick up the phone and call, you will probably just trigger another level of security lockout. Been there, done that.

Here is the link from my Google Drive, so anyone who wants it can grab it. You will need to uninstall the "new" version prior to installing this one. Once installed, go into the Play Store and turn off "automatic updates" for this app, otherwise your phone will eventually download the new one to replace it.

So just as an experiment I installed the 4.0 app on my wifes iPhone and it works fine and shows unlock car start etc. Interestingly it is in miles (while 4.0 on android showed km). So it's not a car sync/subscription issue, definitely an android app issue. I also installed it on a S7 edge running Android 8 and same issue as my Note 9, no Car Start / Remote Start (but app is in km...)...

Previous updates were done in the car via WiFi. But now the car says no update available. The car shows D.1.1.2. When I go the the Acuralink App on my phone it says 4.0.0 (I’m not a paid subscriber). Is this settled and I don’t need to do anything else?

AFAIK you're at the latest level of instability. One of these days, we might get a map update. Maybe even one that doesn't mess things up.
