Talking My ‘19 A-spec

This is our new Rdx A-Spec. looks fantastic! We have had numerous Hondas and and 2 Acuras before this.
After owning it for a few months, I think have a few comments, concerns.
Likes, Great interior,engine,transmission, headlights,seats.
Dislikes.
Tires , Goodyear Eagle Rsa, complete garbage. Very harsh ride. Noisy
scary on snow or ice.
Engine seems to provide almost no heat on short drives. Our ‘17 Ridgeline heats like a furnace.
Will probably replace Eagle Rsa’s with Michelin pilots. Coming from the great white north, the very slow engine
heat is almost a deal breaker. Due to this, the Rdx will be mostly summer driven. Replaced the factory all weather mats with Weather tecs, factory mats provide poor
protection.
Wrapped most of front with 3M Pro
Looking forward to being on this great forum!

I had Goodyear RSAs on my Infiniti G37X and they were horrible in the snow.

I haven’t had any issues with the stock shoes. Even on the 3” of ice covered roads of north eastern PA mountains.

Good thing it comes with an auto start. Maybe those short trips will be warmer.

Don't have the 19 RDX yet, and not sure if you have AWD, but if you live where it snows, you likely need snow tires as the all seasons do not cut it in the snow and ice and the AWD is a must. In Canada, all we get is AWD anyway. My 2 cents. I am a bit dismayed Acura got away from the Michelins. I have owned many and this is the 1st Acura I have seen without.Likely cutting costs.

If you want great performance in snow, I went through two sets of Goodyear TripleTreds on my Honda Pilot. Nothing better in rain, ice or snow. But they're not the quietest tires. But then again, my Pilot wasn't the quietest vehicle. I'd probably sacrifice a little bad weather performance and get Michelins. When the time comes.

I had them remove the RSA's when I bought my car and add Pilot's. So far in the snow, ice, and freezing rain, the car's been perfect. I knew going in the RSA were crap so I made that a part of my buy. I paid a little more, but they credited the RSA's on the order. Well worth it.

Good luck with the A-Spec. I love mine, other than the horrible 1.0.7 update, it's a fun car. I really loved it more on 1.0.4. Fingers crossed for some rumored update in February.
