I am about to pick up my 2023 Aspec Advance. I want to get the front windows tinted immediately as I feel all cars lok better with tint and it keeps the car a little cooler as well in the heat.
I know the back windows and rear windshield its not actually tint, its the color of the glass.
What percentage of tint do I need to get to match them ? I would like it to match or even be a little darker (but not TOO dark).
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Simple - the rear windows by the factory are about 20% tint in color, but do little for UV and heat rejection.
I got the front windshield tinted using LLumar 80% Air (about two months ago - game changer), then the drivers and passenger doors 30% LLumar CTX (Ceramic). It's a little lighter than the rears - but with the front windshield look perfect to me. My goal was to stay sort of legal, reduce the UV rays and heat rejection by a lot, PLUS not affect driving at night (dark no lit roads and rainy at night with dark tint on the windows will be like driving at night with your sunglasses on - why I choose my %'s). The Heat and UV rejection is amazing with a top ceramic tint. Kind of wish I used LLUMAR IRX, which is one step above CTX (as it has slightly better heat rejection) - but happy with the outcome.
The front windshield made the biggest difference in the summer, it's really a night and day difference.
Depending on where you live - tinting the read windows with 70%-80% ceramic tint over the factory tint will make the vehicle much cooler (temp wise and cut UV rays). Doing the sunroof in 50% ceramic will be my next project, as they thin shade doesn't do a lot for heat rejection in the brutal Texas Summer months.
Here is what 80% on the windshield and 30% on the driver and passengers doors looks like in the bright sun. Looks a bit darker in the photo.
BTW - LLUMAR and Xpel make the best ceramic windows tint IMO. The optical clarity is superior with these brands.

Your car looks great as always. I was pretty close to getting Silver myself but I really love that Liquid Carbon color. I think I would prefer a little darker tint on the front windows. I dont know what my current car is, but I like it. It MAY be 20...not sure.

Thanks! 20% will match your rear windows - will always look a little lighter than the backs, due to the light is coming through the front windshield.
I have a Liquid Carbon Aspec Advance and considering getting tints soon as well. I'm in North Jersey and torn between getting 35% or 20% on the front windows. My concerns being cops and also visibility at night. lol. I was looking at the spec sheet for Llumar CTX tints. It seems the CTX 30 has a visible light percentage of 34%. The CTX 25 is 28% and the CTX 15 is 20%. I think I would go CTX 25 but I don't know of a place near me that does them. Anyone know a place in NJ?

Remember the windows have a slight tint to them already (so that light visibility will be lower when installed), as they are not 100% clear (front windshield and driver/passenger door). The two shops I got it done at which use LLUMAR only had 50%, 30%, 15% and 5% in the CTX and IRX. Air windshield tint most only carry 80%.
Go to llumar website to locate a local dealer near you - then do some online reviews to see the quality of their workmanship. Ask the dealer what %'s they carry too.

Thanks man. I think I may go for the IRX line. Most likely IRX 30.
I just bought a 2023 Patinum Elite, Liquid Carbon. It’s in shop currently getting full front end PPF and full ceramic coat inside and out. Also getting the windshield and front two windows tinted. Went with Llumar Air 80 on windshield and Kavaca ceramic 35 on driver/passenger window. Will post pics when I get it back.
I had 20% Lumar tint on my 21' RDX Aspec. It looks great and it matched the rear windows pretty well. I always go 20% all the way around (minus the front windshield). I have done 35% in the past, which is also classy looking and easier to see out of at night. Either way, any tint in general looks better than NO tint!
How do people feel about the front not matching the rear windows? I would like to put some tint on my front windows but now as dark as the rear. Im hoping it wont look too weird.

It looks fine and sometimes you don’t have a choice. Window tint on driver/passenger is illegal where I am, so either way it’s a gamble. I’m going lighter than the rears to avoid being pulled over. Windshield tint is also illegal. Is what it is

Agree ! I am settling in on 20 myself...unfortunately a shop near me told me he only has 15% Lumar. Blah. Ill have to travel a bit.

Look at the pic of my RDX above in this thread. 30-35% on the driver and pass doors offers similar color and super ability to see out at night. If you do the windshield, those windows will look darker.
Don’t believe most people take into consideration the visibility of driving at night - especially on dark un lit roads (which is much harder). Then - Heaven forbid it’s pouring rain or snowing. Also, you’re more likely to get pulled over for just the tinted windows.

Mine is like that because I kept it legal (50%) where I live, and because matching the back tint impairs night vision too much for my comfort.
You can honestly only tell they're different in certain conditions because the back windows darken the cabin so much.
Thanks for the replies! Ill go lighter in the front just to give it some tint as my main concern is seeing well at night since I do a lot of backroad driving. As for being pulled over, it is what it is, Im more likely to get pulled over because of my right foot anyways. If I get a ticket for front tint, or no front plate (required in NJ) I consider those "pay to play" tickets. Sometimes it gets you out of the ticket for the bigger offense since they have something else to write you up for and get that $$$.
I got 20% Carbon on my RDX, I dont really need the heat rejection of Ceramic. I like it but it looks too light to me TBH. I wish I could have gone 15 but the next step down was 5%.

20% looks "light"? What color is your interior? Lighter interior makes the tint look lighter, plus all of the sunlight coming in from the windshield. You'll get use to it, it's certainly a night a day difference from the standard non factory tint driver and passenger door windows.
35 Kavaca Ceramic front windows, Llumar Air 80 windshield
Sweet. Perfect color and % choices IMO. Doing the windshield in LLUMAR Air 80 will help significantly in UV rays on the dash, seat and front occupants, cut the suns glare, reduce summer heat and makes the side windows appear a little darker. One cohesive look now - enjoy the new ride. Driving at night will be a breeze…

Ebony interior. I think my 4G TL tint is darker, so I may just be used to that, its all good though. Love the color, love the car. Just hooked up Alexa...pretty cool !

if you get the windshield tinted 70-80%, those 20% side windows will look a lot darker. 80% (Llumar Air windshield tint) is my got too, as seeing at night is no problem.

Do you mean just the top strip or the entire windshield ? My tint shop told me its illegal in PA to tint the entire windshield.

I meant the entire windshield. 80% is almost clear, takes the edge off the glare, omits 99% UV rays and cuts heat by 40%. Some shops don’t like to do windshield tint or don’t have the skills to do it.
You may want to check you state tint laws, as this is what I pulled up for PA: “Windshield: Must allow more than 70% of light in, any darkness on top 3 inches”.
LLumar makes 80% Air windshield tint and xpel makes 70% windshield tint.

I ended up getting my front two windows tinted with 3M IR 25% ceramic. It's not too dark and not too light. To be honest, I think I should have gone darker to match the back windows a little better, but the next level down was IR 15. Nevertheless, having tints is so much better!

Mind sharing a pic? Im curious how a lighter front looks.

Look at the other post with pics and details of the % window tint they got. The interior color (lighter makes the tint look lighter) and not having the windshield done too - with all the light coming in or reflecting off the lighter interior. Thus, even if you go 20% to match the back %, the fronts will always look a little lighter.
Great pics, I have that exact color combo/car. I have 20% Global Express Carbon on mine and its almost an exact match with the back. I'll post a few pics when I can.
Seeing how light it is on my car, I would actually have gone darker, but the next level down was 5%. I am guessing you did 35% ?

Any darker and you’d need night vision goggles to see out the sides on a dark road at night.
Tinting the windshield in 70-80% makes a more unified look, reduces UV rays on the dash, seats & steering wheel, cuts glare and reduces summer heat. Also makes the cabin a bit quieter.

You think so ? 20% really isn't dark man. I mean look at my TL I have for sale in the black market. That tint is more than a little darker than what I have on my new RDX and I can drive at night no problem in my TL.

You’ve got better eyes and night vision than most, that I envy.

I guess I am just used to it. I just realized my TL looks way darker in my pics then it really is. People can clearly see me in the car so it isn't that dark.
Pictures of tint on cars can be highly misleading. It depends on the angle and how bright it is that day. Even when I looked at my tint shops website, he had some pictures of 20% that looked like limo tint and others that looked really light.
Here is my car, 20% Carbon Tint on the driver and passenger side windows. The rest is stock. Day and night shots. (love the Liquid Carbon Metallic, to me it looks good day or night, clean or dirty)
