I am looking to buy a new RDX. Test drove the base model with leatherette seats yesterday.
I was playing with the buttons and had the heated seats button on but then turned off (as it was quite hot out). I then clicked the AUTO button (which is to the right of heated seats in picture below on left) and left it on.
After about 15 minutes, my legs and back were very hot. I am trying to figure out if the AUTO button would have turned on the heated seats or if it did nothing and the leatherette is what made me hot. The AC was on the entire time.
Any experts out there that might know! Much appreciated as it will help me determine which trim to get!
I don't know about the controls on the base model (my advance also has ventilated front seats), but if the heated seats are on, the button should light with 1, 2, or 3 lights (you step through them). If the auto button is lit, and there are no lights on the heater button, there should be no heat.
Personally, I never use the auto button for either the heated or ventilated seats.

When the auto button is on the temp of the seats will be adjusted according to the temp outside or inside the vehicle. Can’t remember which one. It’s in the manual.
