iPhone 11 Pro infotainment issues still present

Just got the iPhone 11 Pro today with iOS 13 obviously. In all fairness I didn't drive around a lot today with CarPlay but if anyone was wondering the problems persist. Music still skipped and the phone disconnected on its own once. More evidence that this is clearly 100% Acura's problem.

I’m not giving Acura a free card here but that proves absolutely nothing, it’s using the same exact software as every other iPhone that can update to iOS 13. Did this really require a new thread?

My iPhone 8 never disconnects. Maybe you need a different cord? I also put in a very short USB extension, so I don’t wear out the car’s port.

I use an official apple cord. And I’ve tried other with no better results. Sounds like you got a good one. It’s good to know it’s at least possible to fix this.

I too just got a new phone. I get numerous disconnects now. I had an iphone 7plus before and never had disconnects. Had to soft reset phone but it still disconnected once and then it was fine from there. Things sure aren't playing nicely here!!!

How can you wear a USB port by leaving a cable plugged?
Why would an extension cable “wear” it less?

My iPhone XS was previously intermittently disconnecting from CarPlay. I did a hard reboot (there are YouTube instructions) and also took to dealer where they did factory reset (this can be done through infotainment settings). Dealer said this issue is a known software issue with Acura infotainment. Since factory reset no more skipping though I don’t use CarPlay often. I also use Apple plug. I unplug cord every time I am done. The times I’ve used it, hour plus car rides, worked without skipping.

the Acura system is very buggy. My wife’s Subaru has had zero CarPlay issues.

I didn’t leave the cable plugged in to that port all the time. I leave the short cord plugged in.

In 40+ years of working with computers (and 20 years with USB). I have yet to see any port "wear out". I have seen them get cruddy from somebody spilling stuff, but I've certainly never seen one wear out.

I did a soft reset on my phone over the weekend. I now have no issues mentioned above. Working fine now.

The issues are not with the phones. Not the cord. Not iOS.

The problem lies with Acura's system. Call the national tech support. Talk to a District Manager. They know it is an issue. They will tell you that resetting using the Factory Reset option will help but only temporarily. There is a flaw in the system. Last I heard a recall MIGHT be coming in November, but then again, they will tell you anything to get you off the phone.
