Infotainment system blank
Infotainment system blank
So today, after remote start, the infotainment system is dead with a black screen .Tried the 3 button reboot technique-nothing happened. Pulled fuse 37 for audio- nothing happened .Still black after multiple restarts. Any ideas?
Mine has done that on startup and while driving. After I stopped car and then restarted, it came back. Not sure what to tell you
So after letting it sit for 3 hours, I started it and it booted up like normal. I have named this vehicle Forest Gump because just like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get!!!
This has happened to me twice in the last week or so. Both times after remote starting the vehicle. Luckily, the system automatically booted up after a few minutes. But honestly, the whole thing has been a little unnerving.
This happened to me this morning after I used the app to start the engine. Drove the car for 5 mins to Starbucks, shut off the engine to go inside, came out and the screen restarted after I started the engine. This is the first time it happened to me after updating the software but it did happen to me once before the update where I didn’t use the app to remote start the engine, so I’m not certain that it’s related to the Acura Link app.
It happened to me first time in 6 months this morning, after the app remote start. It was 6 degrees Fahrenheit outside but this wasn’t the coldest morning since I got the car, if that matters at all. I drove for about 5 minutes with nothing on the screen, then at the stop I restarted the car and everything got back to life as it should. So it seems that a lot of owners are experiencing this issue.

It happened to me this morning. Remote started the car, got in after a few minutes, hit the road. Dead screen. When I got to the first stop sign, stopped, powered down, opened door, closed door and started. Still dead. Nothing. When I got to the first light, I tried it again, still dead. Figured I'd stop at the Acura dealer later in the day, but about 10 minutes later, I was presented with the boot screen and everything was fine.
In 12,000+ miles, since July 1st (or around there), it's never happened.
PS - It was 2 degrees this morning! (But on the last morning it was '0' everything started up fine.

I have owned my 2019 RDX for a little over a year now and I had this issue happen today for the first time. It was around 90 degrees today and we were at a youth baseball game for about 5 hours so I remote started the car using the app to get the air going and have the car cool when we got there. When I got in the car and pressed the power button the infotainment screen remained black and no matter what I did wouldn't turn on. I finally gave up and when I got home scheduled a service appointment for the next morning. I went out after a few hours to give it another try and this time the blue disclaimer screen came on and stayed on. After trying the three buttons and holding the power button but nothing worked. Then when I shut the car off completely the screen remained on. I was worried that it would drain the battery. Finally I popped the hood, disconnected the negative terminal wire from the battery. The screen shut off. Then I reconnected the battery and started the car and everything was working fine again. I'm not sure if I should keep my appointment for tomorrow since I can't replicate the problem. I think if it happens next time I'm going to leave it the way it is and bring it in with the blank screen.
Update - I took the car in the next morning for service. They indicated that though they didn't have a solution for the Blue Disclaimer Screen issue they did have a solution for the Blank Infotainment Screen issue. I had them go ahead and implement the fix. So far after a few days no issues. The invoice described the cause as "Loose connection in the most bus network causing blank display. The solution indicated is to "Replace the FAKRA Connectors. Hope this helps someone who has this issue.
This just happened to me again last night. I auto started the car (this time it was cold out) and when I got in the car the infotainment screen was dead. I went home and let it sit for about 15 minutes and tried again. The screen was still dead. I disconnected the negative connector on the battery for 30 seconds then reconnected it. I started the car and everything worked again. Has anyone experienced this issue recently?
Is this a 2019-2021 thing or ALL RDX's ?
I have never used my remote start...I tried it the other day just by pressing the button on the KEY FOB and the car didn't start. Didn't bother me as I was just messing around , didn't really NEED it.
