I had mine replaced last week because of an OTA update issue.

Not sure what the issue is here. Sounds like there's some internal confusion about ancillary parts. Not that they are replacing the head unit in ALL 2019s.

Acura changed the head unit revision from 19 to 20. Can you dig in into the 3-buttom menu and check what the ICU version your replacement unit is?

Where do I find that?

Is this so they can keep their word and give Android Auto capability to the 2019s as they promised and advertised?

No, everyone should already have Android Auto with the 1.2.1 update that came out in November. I didn't because I was never able to do OTA updates on my car. Neither was the dealer, as I chronicled in the thread I linked in post 2. They had a field engineer do a complete wipe and reload of the vehicle in order to get it to update. I don't know if changing the head unit was necessary but they had already done it.

I don't understand what @sonyfever is getting at or what the significance is. I tried searching those menus but I don't see what he's referring to. If he ever shows up again, hopefully he'll elaborate.

You need to click the lower button on the 3-button diagnosis menu, click "Unit Check" or something similar, then click "ICU". There it will say the part number of the ICU. Many of the head unit issues seem to be CAN bus communication related, so Acura (or Denso) made changes to the head unit and CAN gateway in 2020MY. I am curious if your 19 got the 20MY parts...

Okay, yeah, I selected the upper option on the initial menu.

I still don't understand a lot of your jargon but the dealer tech did say that the infotainment unit wasn't communicating properly with the engine control module so I guess that's why they swapped it out.

Now my only problem is the Acura link app remote commands. The app was working perfectly before the change. I have a ticket open for that and hope to hear back by Monday.

Next time I'm in the car I'll try the diagnostics menu again and take a pic.

Thanks. I will compare mine - I thought I have seen more information in this page but apparently not. Then it occurred to me, maybe I made things too complicated. The repair order you got from dealership should have the part # for the new head unit. Do you mind sharing it with us?

Found the information I was looking for are in "CB SW/HW Traceability" page instead of "Unit Check/ICU". The ICU info that you car shows are the same as mine.

On the CB SW/HW page, my car (late 2019 build) shows:
HARO HW Part Number: 39540-TJB-216
Denso Part Number: TN468700xxxx
Denso Manufacturing Date: 10302018

I would love to know if you find the replacement snappier and without issues with carplay and usb. In essence, do the 2020 replacements work better?

I don't use CarPlay. I have an Android phone. I haven't really had the chance to play with Android Auto.

The only thing I notice about the new unit is some HD radio stations seem to have more signal dropouts. It happened with the old unit too but maybe not as much. Not really sure. And the remote commands in the AcuraLink app still don't work. I have a case ticket with support and still waiting to hear. The app worked perfectly with the old unit.
