Haunted Tailgate

Has anyone else with an Advance with the Hands Free Assist Tailgate had it go up on its own? The other day, I closed it at Costco, and when I got into the car, it was up. I though maybe it hit a box when it was closing. Today, my wife put it down, and it went back up on its own, and there was nothing in the cargo area. But the weird one is, after she watched it go back down and went into a party, several minutes later someone told her that her tailgate was up on her car. When she went out, it was halfway up. Once or twice, I can figure maybe something may have interfered with it, but this has been too many times in a few days, and the halfway up is a real mystery.

That really is spooky. Maybe you should disable hands-free in settings until the dealer can check it out.

I had something tonight when I got in to leave. But I’m 99% sure It’s because I had my fob in my pocket with my wallet and it hit the button.

The hands free tailgate should be locked and not responsive if the keyfob is not within like 10ft, right? This is worse than leaving your car unlocked, this is "Hey thieves, come check out this car, maybe there's something valuable in here". This must be a fault in the sensor and locking system. Hope you get it figured out

Mine has gone back up on it's own when it sensed an obstruction on closing.. much like a garage door opener. I had a large suitcase in the back and other items, the door opened back up when it couldn't close using hands-free.

Mine was open one day when I walked outside one day. I keep my fob in my pocket so it likely opened as a result of a button being pressed. I have also set off the horn this way so I dont think I have an issue with my tailgate.
