Fuel Range is not correct
Fuel Range is not correct
Hi, I had the battery negative disconnected, once I reconnect, the fuel range showing 720KM to empty, which is strange because usually when I fill up my gas tank it only showing around 530 or so, I have let the gas goes half tank see if it correct itself, but no, with full tank again the range showing more than 700 km again, anyone experience this. Tks.
I experienced the same thing when I disconnected my battery as well.
Initially I thought a voltage spike had caused some damage to the computer. Each time I refueled the estimate began to get closer to what I considered normal. It took about 6 refills before it returned to an accurate value.

I’ve heard of this. The default “average MPG” used by the computer to estimate range is close to 30 mpg! As you drive, your actual mpg becomes the denominator in the formula. That may take a few tanks.
Yes, as others have suggested it's the default. It's so funny because I know what it would take to eke 700+ km out of the RDX. I've come pretty close. It's safe to say that 99.99% of all RDX fuel-ups will not get their drivers 700+ km.
(You need to be going 45-60 mph without varying your speed, without substantial hills and very little stopping)
