Front Storage Ideas

Coming from a QX50 and other Nissans before it, one thing I dislike about the 2022 RDX is a lack of front storage. The size of the center console is abysmal and the glove box is "regular size" at best. If you use the wireless charger, that bottom area is not really good for storage either. I carry spare quarters for meters, sunglasses that go on top but a spare pair of glasses, a flashlight for seeing addresses, mints/gum, etc. What are others using for expanding the storage capabilities?

Things I've been considering:
  1. Mounting a "change cup" of some sort on the back wall of the wirless charging area. Maybe even covering the 12v power source
  2. Something like one of these options. Small, and "quality appearing". Preferably to mount on the BACK of passage seat, with no straps visible to front. These two examples are right functionally, but need to look a little better. If you find something like that pls post here.

That open cubby hole underneath the center console fits a regular size tissue box perfectly. Easy to reach when the wife is yelling she needs some for the baby in the back seat.

On the '22, there is a wireless charger there. Ridiculous placement IMO since so much space is wasted.

I added this nice trash bin on the floor directly behind the center console.

A small rectangular box of Kleenex fits perfectly on the floor in front of it. I actually use the bin for trash, but you could keep a lot of personal belongings in there, and it frees up space up front. It has a flip top, which I keep folded back. If you keep stuff in it, you should fold it over so it can’t be viewed from outside the car.

I'd say turn off the wireless charger and use the area for storage. After fiddling with it for 6 months I've come to realize it's a mediocre charger at best. It's finicky and is fairly low power.

Well put. So now the question is: Does anyone have some good ideas for storage solutions for that area? Something that is easy to access and want move around of make any noise while driving.

New parent here, (new RDX too), so Im always looking to utilize space. Here is a tissue box and mini trash can I just got. They both fit the back doors perfectly. The trash can fits the front door if tilted, both would fit the center cup holders just fine as well. I use the mini trash can for snack/bandaid wrappers, wipes, and other misc trash that comes with having a toddler. The trash can is small so you can't put big items in it but I like that it's not bulky looking. The cylinder tissue box is great. Wish it came in nicer colors but might just 3D print a case to make it look nicer.

If anyone has any links to nice looking storage boxes that fit perfectly in the underfloor compartments, please share!
