I've seen a thread here regarding improving the floor well lighting, but my question is do ALL trim levels have this?

I purchased a Tech AWD last week and with black carpet the floor is DARK at night, there is no floor lighting at all.

Does this not come with the tech package or am I missing a setting somewhere that will turn this on? (Interior lights (upper console, roof, etc) do come on when the door is opened, but nothing for the floor)

The ambient lighting is standard, but the floor lights are so dim, you have to be in complete darkness to notice, at least for my old eyes. When I first got the RDX, I didn’t even notice the floor lighting until my daughter commented on it.

 

My A-Spec has them. As DrWoo said, they're not terribly bright, but they do help. The ones in the A-Spec are red, dunno if that's true for the other trims, or just some gimmicky thing for the A-Spec to make people think it's actually sporty. The footwells and undertray area under the gear selector are all lit.

I looked again with my car in the garage, door closed so it was pretty dark.

Until i knelt down and looked up under the dash I still had no idea there was a light there. This thing is incredibly dim.

Guess the next step is to upgrade that lighting

 

Ambient lighting in general is pretty bad. The cabin never feels lighted up even with all of the overhead lights turned on. And I don't like the color temperature of the lights either--it's too white for my liking, prefer more of a warm light.

 

I am the one who posted the ambient light upgrade. Ours is a Tech. Agree the factory lighting is very dim which is why I upgraded the LED's. We also changed to blue color but you could do white to keep the factory look if you want.
