First oil change
I see, so your basic argument is that since I can't name a bunch of Toyotas, somehow your incorrect argument about how $100 worth of savings on a car that induces you to buy the car makes sense? I might not know much about cars, but you clearly don't know much about marketing, psychology, or anything else by the same token.

Ah, I guess I must not know too much about marketing. Guess I should go ask for a refund for my MBA then
.
You should ask for a refund, since the university obviously failed at their job. Bragging about a degree when you're lacking in the ability to use the knowledge properly actually makes you look a lot worse, you know.
. Where's yours
?Yeah I know this makes me look like a dick, but hey, this is the internet
. Better to get it all out online and be nice in person, that's my motto. And hey, keep thinking you're right and that somehow you're smarter than everyone who bought that BMW, while deep down you wish you could have afforded it

You on the other hand couldn't even figure out how to use a rearview mirror, so maybe you shouldn't be the one to talk...

To the OP: Sorry (kinda) for going off-topic. Back to the topic at hand, anyone can do an oil change on this car. It's a Honda motor after all, nothing crazy or special about the oil change process. As with almost all Hondas/Acuras, 0w-20 or 5w-20 works fine.

BMW also has a very valid reason for why they would offer free maintenance. They know the majority of their owners lease the cars, and that also means they're less likely to actually perform proper maintenance on the car. That can lead to poor long term reliability down the road, which negatively impacts the perceived reliability of the car. We all know German cars need proper maintenance or they become a bottomless money pit, and I'm sure BMW knows that as well. That would also explain why they've reduced their plan from 4 years to 3 years, as 3-year leases have started to become more popular than 4-year leases. No point in giving free maintenance to the longer-term owners when it's all about protecting the cars from the leasee's negligence.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that you think I'm impressed by your Vanguard portfolio or you have an MBA and don't realize that having $12 million doesn't tell me anything about the cost basis. Or it could be that you have $12 million and are still complaining about the cost of an oil change.

.But if you're curious, total gain of that portfolio is $4,623,142.44. You can do the math yourself
. Or better yet, start a new thread on how to use your calculator. I hear they're more complex than a mirror.

Not sure if they're proud per se, but they've been pretty happy to receive donation checks (not literally, of course, only fools write a check; the rest of us donate securities).
.If I don't end up with 5K posts by the end of this month I'm going to be disappointed.
.You must think Bill Gates is a moron for giving away so much money, right?
And no, I'm not saying that I'm like Bill Gates. Everyone knows I'm much smarter and better looking than him
. Some say I resemble a young Brad Pitt with Channing Tatum abs.

Oh, I didn't know COVID and the fires were impacting your financial savvy. My bad.
That's fascinating. How are you helping the next crop of students? You mean you think your university's endowment fund is being used to help students? You sure are financially astute. The university has not put one over on you.
Ah, all this angst about your education...did you go to Arizona State or Bama maybe? My sympathies;
Anywho, there's some caviar and white truffles being served by my supermodel maid, so excuse me for a moment while I go enjoy culinary and anatomical opulence.
Well, I didn't want to explicitly insult any of the students who went to those esteemed institutions, because as you can see, I'm all about class and manners. But now that I think about it, it would be mean spirited of me to lump them in with you, so I'll bite my tongue.

My son took his car to Jiffy Lube years ago. He recognized the worker-dudes as guys he went to school with and had dropped out, and he remembers their work ethic. Sure enough they way overfilled it, "forgot" the crush washer and had the nerve to try and show him how dirty the air filter was without even removing the original from the car. So no one in the family has oil changes done at other than the Honda or Acura dealer. Spend a few bucks to do it right or save a couple of dollars and risk the health of your vehicle.

I'll be here all week folks.
No seriously, I still have almost 2 months of my pat leave. I haven't gone anywhere since March when the shutdown started. I am quite literally slowly going insane being cooped up inside all the time, as you can see over the last 30 minutes.
Is this a desperate cry for help? Maybeeee. I am bored out of my mind? Definitely.
On a serious note, I think it would be wise for Acura corporate to pay for at least first service. Not saying it should be like BMW, but at least first one. Its a small thing, but nice. And its coming from me, that would DIY anyway, lol
