I've been having a hard time getting the dealer to fix an issue with the rear door. The dealer says the "district rep states that these cars are mass produced and are not perfect. My question to you guys is am i being unreasonable here?
i see this every time i look in the side view mirror rear driver side door trim doesnt line up right
Ask for contact information to speak to district rep directly. Ask who is above district rep. Make it clear that you are not going away quietly. The door trim below the window, especially, is not acceptable. It makes me wonder if it's just the trim or is the door itself out of alignment?
It's frustrating to be treated like an idiot. At what point does the warranty come into play since we have to expect and accept problems in mass produced cars?
This is also a text book example of why it's important to do a thorough walk-around before taking delivery. They would fix this without hesitation if it was stopping the sale.

This is where I failed. Lesson learned. I have a meeting with the district rep tomorrow.
Wasn't trying to be an ass, just a learning opportunity for others. Good luck.
No offense taken at all. I met with the rep today who agreed to fix the issues after showing them to her. It seems something was being lost between the dealer and the rep.

Direct escalation is often an effective tool in cases like this. I think the dealership can sometimes sandbag an issue if it's potentially tedious and/or the financial compensation doesn't guarantee a profit.
Another lesson here: Don't accept the word of a service manager as the final call. They aren't always genuinely interested in helping you.
Same thing happened to my RDX. Took it to dealer where I bought the car and they fixed it. The body shop adjusted the door and replaced the plastic trims.
