Do Acura cars get a mid-life refresh?

Seeing the TLX and upcoming MDX pics make me wonder if any of their details might end up in the RDX in 2022/2023. Does Acura typically implement a substantial refresh including cosmetic upgrades? Or is the most we should really expect is tiny incremental stuff along the way, like wireless CarPlay, USB-C, etc.?

They all do. Typically it's mostly cosmetic.

You should check out the spy pics of the 2nd Gen TLX and 4th Gen MDX to get a taste of what upgrades might be applied to the 2022 RDX.

Based on those pictures, they seem to be trending towards making the palm rest for the touchpad deliberately elevated, which would be annoying to me.

It'd be clever if they made it adjustable. I think it's too low in the RDX. But you could easily make that thing adjustable by letting it rotate 180 degrees and "click" into a higher or lower setting.

So are folks thinking 2022 is almost certainly the year for an RDX refresh?

Just going by what Acura has done in the past. They usually do 3 models, MMC, and 3-4 years of +MMC models after that. This is when they sometimes add Type-S, A-Spec, Type-R, PMC, hybrid, new styling, new tech. Acura doesn't make a lot updates after the MMC and most of time zero changes for the last 2-4 +MMC model years. Purchasing a +MMC Acura is usually the best bet for latest/greatest styling, power, tech, luxury, and best price.
