I had really liked the RDX prototype wheels:

So I’m thinking the Ace Convex has much of the same feel... here’s the matte black on an F-Pace for an idea:

I think on an Advance (Modern Steel most likely), I’d go with hyper silver to tie-in with the car’s chrome trim... similar color scheme to this Aston:

I was going to purchase these rims but saw they do not look nearly as bad on the Gunmetal as other colors. I may not change them out based on how they look in comparison to other color vehicle with the Advance rims.

No, Tire Rack doesn't carry Ace. Discount Tire is an Ace distributor. They don't show them on their website, but they can order any of them.

They are black inside, but, that machine work of the face helps give some contrast. They would be a perfect no issue fit for your Advance.

These look really nice. Has it been verified that these would fit and work fine on a 2019 RDX Advanced?

Yes, they will fit perfectly. I have them on my A-Spec. The Advance is not "special" when it comes to the suspension and fitting of wheels. They fit.

Advance has a couple extra bits hanging out in the wheel wells, namely the ADS shock absorber solenoids and associated wiring harnesses, but they are pretty well tucked out of the way. I agree they shouldn't present a specific fitment issue.

When I test fit a 17 x 6.5 inch wheel today ( thinking winter ), the one thing that caught my eye was the parking brake cable to the rear caliper. (At least I think that's what it is; I'm new to electric parking brakes ). It was routed a bit close to the underside of the rim at about "2:00". Maybe one cm of clearance, so something to be aware of. It's not an hydraulic line, so AFAIK it wouldn't be catastrophic if it got rubbed, but it's best avoided. This is a non-issue for a 19" or 20" wheel.

I'm at my dealer right now.
They're saying that the Advanced tires may not fit on these wheels and instead I may need to buy new tires to fit these wheels.

Any idea on that? I'm actually at the dealer now in case anyone has quick info on this!

There are 2 different Diamond Cut wheels.
The Advance tires will fit on the 19" TLX Black Diamond Cut wheels with no problem.

The RDX Diamond Cut wheels are 20". The A-Spec tires fit on that model.

Helpful. They were very insistent that they would not fit properly.
They said the 19" TLX Black Diamond Cut needs 245/40 which is different enough from the Advanced tires which are 235/55 that it was not recommended to use them on the TLX Rims.
Should I be at all nervous about this?

I considered mounting the OME tires on the TLX 19” assessory wheels. In the end I simply brought new tires 255/50/19. They stick out a bit from the body so the look may not suit everyone. I’ll post pics after I get the windows tinted. As to your car I’d suggest getting a second opinion from either and good tire shop or tire rack.

It sounds like they are saying the wheels wont fit with the TLX sized tires. Its like they are assuming you are going to use the TLX tires on the RDX. The wheel specs themselves are basically identical between the RDX and TLX. In my experience, dealership parts counter people usually don't know much about what the are selling.

Both 19 x 8 inch wheels. TLX "diamond cut" wheel has +55 mm offset. OEM 2019 RDX wheels have +50mm offset. So the only difference it that the wheel rim and tire would be "pulled in" toward the centerline by 5mm relative to stock. Not likely to be a problem unless you go crazy wide with the tires, and the stock RDX Advance tires are not crazy wide.

I wouldn't be nervous about the wheels or tires, but I would be very nervous about trusting anything that idiot at the parts counter tells you.

Smile TLX 19" Diamond Cut Wheels....tires???

I am running the 2018 TLX Diamond Cut Wheels with 255/50//19 Michelin LTX's. It all fits just fine. They are tucked in...don't stick out. The stock tires were 255/45/20's....they fit under....OEM set up, so yes.

I could have put the Advance size tires on these wheels...235/55/19....Staying with the 29.2" diam that is important. And, YES, these tires would have fit just fine on these wheels. I've been swapping wheels/tires between Acura's
and Hondas for years. It's all pretty easy and simple. Just keep your tire diam. the same as the OEM tires....and don't go crazy.

I owned a rare set of TSX, A-Spec wheels that I used on Honda Accord Coupes, Honda CRV's, Gen 2 RDX's.....and they looked great on all. They were 18" x 7.5". Fit the Gen 2 RDX's just fine. But, I let them go with my trade
so I could go with the TLX DCW in 19" And if you didn't happen to read my "deal" on that issue....I got an extra $1K for those wheels with mounted Michelins. The OEM wheels and Michelins went too.

The Advance rims are so ugly imo. Wheels are supposed to set the car off!

Totally agree. The factory wheels on the Tech package looks better. Acura should replace the product manager who selected the wheel set for Advance model. I've yet to hear one person say anything positive about it.

I think Acura were trying to copy Audi's

That might be because the people who like them don't post their opinions.

That would be me. I didn’t even question the wheels on my advance until I saw this thread. I would never pay thousands to upgrade my wheels. I figure my wife is just going to scrape whatever wheels we have, so I don’t pay much attention to them. While I don’t want to drive an ugly car, to me, the most important aspect of a car is how it looks on the inside, because that is what I see when I drive it.

This is not abstract impressionist art here... I think it's pretty straight forward that these wheels are ugly. Even the dealers gave a smirk smile in agreement when mentioned. Those don't comment probably don't care about how the wheels look, especially if they are leasing.

What's even more frustrating is that even within RDX line, there are better looking wheels, especially the Tech package. They look awesome.

That's not the context....the question is do you actually like them ? or you just don't care. I am not the type to pay to custom wheels either and probably will end up getting it anyways because having HUD and 360 camera is more important to me than a set of wheels. This doesn't mean I don't have an opinion on their looks.

On that point we will disagree, it is not straight forward that they are ugly. While they are not the best looking wheels I've ever seen they are, IMO, the nicest looking of the 'stock' wheels offered on the '19 RDX line - but, also IMO, any of the Honda Accord wheels look better.

It's all a matter of esthetics and subjective personal opinion, which by definition is neither absolute, factual or straight forward. IMO, and it's only my opinion, the 'honor' for the ugliest stock wheels for the '19 RDX goes the the 20" stock A-Spec (let the flaming begin). That because I absolutely hate black wheels, second only to my total dislike of 'blacked out' cars in general.

While on this subject the I'll also go on record as saying the ugliest color combination offered for the RDX (and possibly in the top 10 ugliest ever offered by any manufacturer) is the Apex Blue with Red interior on the A-Spec - I can only describe it as garish and hideous, but this also is only my opinion. Does it mean I'm right - no; nor does it mean I'm wrong. It's only my opinion based on my esthetic values. Others will feel totally the opposite and that's fine - but it does not make them right or wrong either.

I agree, it is only a matter of personal taste. No one is right and no one is wrong. IMHO, the A-Spec version does nothing for me. It is designed for a younger audience. I am more interested in certain creature comforts and how the chassis engineers designed what appears to be a rock solid foundation. There are more important factors to be considered, IMHO. For the snowflakes out there, do not get your panties in a twist. It is only an opinion.

IMO its the little mini spokes right beside the thicker spokes that wreck them. A clean five spoke wheel without rivets and doodads will always look good.

I’m someone who paid a couple of thousand dollars to replace the Advance tims a tires. To me the OME rims weren’t ugly. To be honest they’re kind of cute and there laid the problem. I needed something a bit more aggressive. Also the tires were too narrow for my taste and rode too soft for me. Here are a few pics. Never been a fan of black rims, but they complimented the exterior color scheme.

Since this is a wheel thread...I was wondering if anyone have weighted their oem 2019 RDX wheels/tires combo? I'm curious of the weight difference between the Aspec wheels and other models... Thanks in advance!
