Center Display Setting - What Am I Doing Wrong?

The gorram center display unit is annoying. I want to set it to the compass because of all the options (including MINIMAL) it is the least distracting. But every time I get in the car it defaults to trip computer. If I set it to wheel pressure, it stays wheel pressure. If I set it to SH-AWD it stays SH-AWD. But it won't stay on compass. Am I doing something wrong?

Check your infotainment version, anything before D1.1.4 defaults to trip computer.

Hmm. Maybe I'm wrong about it staying on tire pressure or SH-AWD.

Is there a later infotainment that changes things?

Defaulting to Trip Computer is stupid. Even my 10 year old CRV would retain the center display setting.

Yes, it is stupid. So is defaulting to the audio screen on the center console when I always put it on clock, and never leave audio going when I shut down.

Just add it to the list of stupidly not having some settings persist from drive to drive.

Kinda confused at what u guys mean. I have a 2020 and whatever setting I have on display (I like the SH-AWD) is the same screen that appears when I start the the car. The way it should be no?

The way it should be? Yes. The way it is for lots of us? No.

Yes, those of us with 2019 models, don't have that "feature".

You would think it's just common sense to leave your settings the way they were. Fuck is wrong with you acura.

OK, I was out and about today, with two stops long enough to let the car sleep.

First stop, I left the car in SH-AWD, and when I came out an hour later, it was still in SH-AWD.
Next stop, I left the car in tire pressure, and when I came out an hour later, it had reverted to trip computer.

So, in agreement with above, WTF?

More and more, I'm glad we paid a little more for the '20. It still annoys me that the minimal screen actually displays 'Minimal'. It should disappear after selecting it IMO.

I have a '19. So far, I don't see much difference. Are there no glitches at all in the '20s?

Knock on wood. I have not run into a single infotainment issue. Of course, now that I said that, tomorrow it's going to explode, lol. Then again, only had the car since July and 3,3xx miles so far. My biggest gripe has been the rattles and other cabin noises.

Things have settled down for me too. But I still get some random glitches when running Amazon ultra HD tunes.

I have a question for the 2020 owners. If you shut the vehicle down with the navigation scale set at say 1/4 mile, is it still at 1/4 when you restart, or does it default back to 500 feet like the 2019's? Meaning I have to zoom out a couple presses every time I restart. Seems to me it should come back on at 1/4 mile like every other navigation system I've owned.

SH-AWD stays, but compass doesn't, for some reason.

Because the software writers for this car are freakin’ terrible. It is like they outsourced it to the Elbonians.

Yeah, it is obvious that whoever signed off accepting the software never actually tried it.

I'll eat crow guys. 2020 has the exact same problem with compass not showing up on restarts. Every other setting stays the same. I havnt updated to the latest d1.1.4 though. Will report back.

Side question. Theres no compass on the navigation map on the center display shows it?
