Another Rear Differential Service!

Hey All,

So, I had the rear diff fluid replaced in my 21' RDX at 13k miles a year ago. Now, I am at 21k, and the MID is showing a B 7 code. Doesn't that seem awfully fast for another diff fluid change? I swear I read that you do the first one at 15k mile-ish and then every 30k afterwards?

I am not going to do it as my RDX is leased, and I will be swapping it out in 8 months. However, it seems early to me, and I was just wondering if any of you are getting the second diff fluid change code that soon after the first one?

Also, I do mostly highway driving - 75-80mph. No stop and go.

Thanks!

something is not right, maybe they did not clear your MID code. 13k makes sense for first one, the next one should be around 45k

I thought it was too soon! They did clear the MID after that service because I had an A-1 after it. However, now at 70% oil life, it is showing a B-7 code. I will definitely be skipping that service since I am leasing and my lease is up next March. If I were to keep the vehicle, I'd do another one around 40-45k then.

Thanks!

Oh, nevermind then! I suppose brake fluid swap is probably needed about now... 2021 RDX Aspec with 21k. I'll do that service then. I read the MID codes then. OOPS!

Thanks for letting me know!

brake fluid code will come up every 3 years or 30k miles roughly.

Sounds good! Thanks! Hoping I dumb the car before then! Seriously considering a BMW 330i M-Sport (X-Drive). I like Acura, but I'm kind of bored with the RDX. The TLX is cool too, but again, basically a sedan version of my RDX.

It’s surprising how bad the brake fluid looks after 3 years too, 100% a necessary service to keep the system in good shape
