According to the salesman I test drove the RDX..it already has it!! I said nope....he kept saying yes.....I said its odd that Acuras official twitter account said nope and no firm date! It makes meleary too.....Back when I bought my 2016 Outback...salesmen would say that Android Auto would eventually come to the 16 via an update.....it never did. Big difference in that case, Subaru never said it was coming, just the clueless salesman. In the Acura case, they have said it is coming, so just a matter of when...and of course how well its going to work..

I remember a few years ago when Honda teased Apple CarPlay support for the 2015 CR-V. Some owners were selected as beta testers, but the beta test ended and the feature was never offered to the general public.
Many Honda/Acura models have had an "app installer" icon for years. After owners asked about it, Honda eventually released a statement saying that they didn't offer any apps and had no plans to develop any.
Having seen Honda progress from AM radios to Android-based infotainment systems, I wouldn't hold my breath for any upgrades and I certainly wouldn't buy an RDX based on the hope that it'll support Android Auto at some future date based on PR statements. I've seen features promised then later corrected and/or removed. Besides, Honda are waiting on Google. How interested do you think Google is in writing custom software for one, small luxury SUV by Acura with an interface that operates differently than any other in the universe of vehicles? They've got much bigger fish to fry.
I hope I'm wrong and an Android Auto update arrives soon for those who would like to use it, but I'll believe it when I see it.

As I expected, Android Auto is NOT part of today's update from to D 1.0.7 for earlier RDX's that came with D 1.0.4.
