800 mile trip results

Just returned from my first road trip of a approx. 800 mile trip on my 2019 Aspec. I traded a 2017 Lexus NX F-Sport for this Aspec. What a differance !!! Both were about the same price to begin with. The gas milliage is much better in the Aspec. The NX best was 18-19 highway. The Aspec was at 23 to 26 highway. The handling has a better feel. True the NX had no problem keeping up and passing the Aspec seemed to less a struggle using all 10 gears. I recall often having to use the paddle shifters to down shift the NX while the Aspec automatically sensed the need and found the right gear to be in. Handling and softness of the ride the NX was a little more better but not that much differance with the Aspec. My tires are at 36 psi which is listed on tag on door frame. Anyway a very comfortable seating for long travel. Visabilty was better than the NX as well. I commented before on this site regarding the transmision lag from a rolling stop but that has all but disapeared. So thus far very pleased with this SUV.

How was the road noise with the different road surfaces? That was the one thing I've noticed with the +19 RDX compared to the MDX was more road noise; especially, from the rear area.

Yea the road noise was more significate because the roads in Arizona aren't the best. Tires are low profile so I expect that. The wind noise was little or none as far as I could notice. My RDX came with 32 PSI in the tires so I did increase to 36 during my trip so may have added to road noise. Once I got on better pavement pretty much disappeared.
