2024 RDX release
#81
Looks like they've made SH-AWD standard on the 2024 RDX (although some literature still mentions "available SH-AWD"). They also eliminated the Silver/Graystone color combination. I don't see any other changes.
The standard SH-AWD effectively raises the base price by $2,300. The increase is only $100 comparing 2023 SH-AWD to 2024, which holds true across all trims.

Yes. I see from your other posts that you have a 2019 tech.

Keep in mind that those prices are for the hardware only. Unless you install them yourself, the dealer's installation charge will make them significantly more expensive than those prices.

I think there's so much uncertainty around policy from Washington that I really doubt we will see a redesign in 2025, unless it is electric. Of course you can have an electric Type S too. If there's a change in energy policy in 2025, there will again be churn. So I think the current model may well continue for another year or even two. If the current energy policy continues, then most likely there won't be another gas RDX.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2023 RDX A Spec Platinum Elite. Pick it up next Friday. Will get full frontal PPF and Ceramic Coat done right away. Depending on cost, might do the entire car in Matte PPF

Congrats. You’ll need to decide full frontal PPF on entire vehicle PPF, as 1/2 matte would not look right…clear would be the best bet with the front. Acura paint is very durable - I only did a little PPF on the hoop and fenders. Almost zero chips on the front with 20k in all weather conditions and several big road chips.

The RDX used to come with a spare on lower trims. But you could add a spare to any trim as a dealer add-on. My MDX and RDX both were top trims and didn't have factory spares, but the dealer was able to add them onto both.

The 2024 owners manual is published, and I ran a text compare vs the 2023. Changes are:
- New feature to allow Navigation maps to be updated over wifi (in addition to the prior year's USB option)
- Removed all reference to 2WD models (eg: all models are SHAWD)
- Removed references to "models without low speed braking control" (presume that is standard on all models now)
- Says the rear tailgate opens with a foot raise/lower motion, instead of a kick forward/back motion
- Startup will warn if any passengers are missing a seatbelt, prior year only warned for front passengers
- Maintenance section warns that the radiator fan may turn on even if the car is in power-off mode
- Says some acurawatch camera-based MID errors may occur if it is dark

The spec details on acuranews.com are also published. Differences vs 2023 are:
- Removal of all FWD trims
- Available options for illuminated side sills and roof rails
- Removal of puddle light dealer option on non-Advance trims

*Btw - the Canadian MB dealer Associations had a meeting and they complained that MB prices are way too high and they are losing customers. Cars are piling up at the dealer lot and no buyers! Apparently, there was a very very unpleasant meeting that took place recently.

I see that Canadian models include extras that US models only have as options. Your lower trim cars get goodies that we need the top trim or add as an accessory. Is there a reason for this? Is that what is driving up Canadian car prices?

Not sure! Historically, car prices are always higher in Canada compared to the US. I remember back in early 2000s, people used to go and buy cars from the US to Canada. But border regulations have changed now.

Acura isn't alone in making puzzling equipment differences between US and Canada models. Subaru would do that too. I will say one of my pet peeves with the RDX given I live in a state that sees a winter is the comically small washer fluid reservoir. I probably wouldn't find it that bad if they at least included the low fluid light in the US like they do in Canada.

My dealer always tops off fluids for free at every oil change, or you could drive in for a free topoff any time you want.
If your dealer does the same the plan to go on whatever interval you fine is before it runs out.
We never had it run out yet with just regular oilchange topoffs.
