2023 Acura RDX has a touchscreen?

Just for curiosity, ran the 23 RDX manual posted earlier through a legal text comparer vs my 2022.

First page it pointed out was a SW notice regarding the "touchscreen".

Car and Driver's review is live now. It also mentions that the 23 has a touchscreen. The controls are now touchpad or touchscreen, exactly what reviewers have been begging for.

Now time to ask my dealer if this can be retrofitted on my 22.

Hmm... wondering if car/driver reviewer made a mistake. They say the exact same sentence in 2022.

Still one clear difference is that the 23 manual says touchscreen in the software section. 22 didnt.

My bet is no touchscreen. The policy in the user manual seems generic - probably copied from Honda side, so the touchscreen came from there.(Actually, similar policy does appear in the user manual of 22 Civic)
Honda has moved on to Android Automotive, and I guess they would leave Acura's infotainment HW as-is for this generation to minimize the SW maintenance work.

I can't imagine they took the time/expense to make it a touchscreen and from the pics the screen is still in the same place so the reach would be awkward.

Dealer confirmed that screen 23 partnum is identical to 22. Thus not a touchscreen.

When was the last time Acura walked back a polarizing decision? It took so long to finally ditch the beak

Why would it be touch screen? Without a complete interior redesign, that screen is too far away to comfortably use as a touchscreen.

The 2023 owner’s manual clearly indicates no changes to the True Touch Interface. There is no touch screen.

It’s been difficult to find good laborers these days and every industry is impacted. Odd that someone would go out of their way to add “touchscreen” considering the similarities to last year’s model.

Probably force of habit. Other than Mazda, do any new cars have a screen that isn't a touchscreen anymore?

Even if it was touch-capable, it would be really, really hard to reach given where it's placed.
