Military service promotion right? It was $1500 & .9% over memorial weekend. Great deal if you can qualify.

$1500 is military, $1000 for the rest.

Final deal

I pulled he trigger yesterday.

14 advance awd ent. Black with tan leather.

Sell price $51069

Added accessories:
Running boards
Trailer hitch
Side molding
Wheel locks
Roof rack
Rear protector
All weather mats
Cargo fold

Installed for $3200 ish. So total 54 and change.

Matched my trade offer from carmax 20k for 2010 Honda odyssey. He wanted to give me 18k and he did not like the carmax quote. He charged a little more for accessories made $500 more.

Had to start walking out to get this through. I think I did ok the manager didn't talk to me much anymore. That's a good sign.

I went to Chevy Chase Acura. They have a great looking dealership. All in an indoor facility. I was also dealing with Criswell Acura who also offered the same deal. They just didn't have the color comb that I wanted.

Well that's over now comes the buyers remorse.

I believe both are for military. $1500 was for Memorial weekend and $1000 is after Memorial weekend. If there was non-military rebate for financing I would have done that and paid it off month later.

I picked my MDX Advance AWD White/Parchment $53k plus tax etc; a few hours back. My first impressions of the Acura compared to our last purchase of a Lexus RDX in November 2012. The Acura lacks the luxury finesse and quality control that exists in the Lexus. As one who has worked in the automotive industry, I may be a bit more sharper in catching manufacturing defects. Two defects that I noted right on the first day were:

On coming home, I found spots of white body paint on the outside of the headlamp cover. Wow! At the dealer while taking delivery, I asked by chance if I could try out the entertainment system. When I went to the back seat, I could not operate it. Turns out that the cover was missing and none of the controls were working. The dealer noted it and a new entertainment system was ordered and I might have to take my vehicle in for a replacement. It has been less than a few hours since I took delivery, but I was surprised at the lack of quality control at Acura. I have owned several high quality Honda's before, and I think Acura is dragging the Honda name down. I was under the impression that Acura, like the Lexus would be a notch higher than their base brand. I am hoping I will not find any more issues going ahead. Not when you pay $50k plus for a "luxury" vehicle.

Congratz on your purchase and sorry to hear about finding few issues right off the bat. My MDX too had issue with Bluetooth not syncing my contacts and AcuraLink buttons not working. It turned out that it was bad Telematics Control Unit which they replaced. Apparently this part costs $2k. Not sure how this got past the factory QA as well. After 1 week of ownership it's been in the shop 1 day.

I agree with you about build quality different between Acura and Lexus. My 2014 Lexus IS350 F-Sport I purchased in January, which is also first year redesigned model, has had no issues and there is nothing I can see I would complain about from build quality perspective but with Acura, if I were to be picky, I can see few minor quality issues here and there. Overall I'm very happy with both purchases so far.

By the way where did you purchase your Advance from?

This is a 2015 MDX AWD Tech Package,

Accessories: $289 (Side Moldings)
MSRP on 2015 MDX AWD with Tech Package: $48840
Total cost for me including the accessories: $48450 (including all taxes) probably got below the invoice.

That is great price indeed. I can't believe you were able to get such great price for 2015. That's $1500 better than what I paid for 2014 couple weeks ago!

What state are you in? Was it hard to get that price? By the way that is ~$2000 below invoice price of MDX Tech.

I am in TN and this was after weeks of haggling and i was the first to buy a 2015 off the lot and they had only 3 of them. One of my friend was negotiating the prices and we were able to strike out a deal for two of these. I guess the dealer incentives for the 2015 model must have started.

Sounds like I should have held out for 2015s. They actually had 2015s on the lot already? Did it drive or feel any different with 2014? I hope they've addressed the build quality issues that were seen on some 2014s.

Here is the weird part I did not drive the 2015, but the exterior and interior are the same no difference when compared to 2014.I did test drive 2014's couple of times but did not find any of the issues people have been saying.

I thought I did ok with getting 2014 for ~$700 below invoice with free all season mats and folding cargo mat but yours has to be one of the best deals I've seen anyone get, especially given it's 2015. Congratz! You can buy some accessories with the savings. Post some pictures.

See below thread. I had dealer install foglights, heated steering wheel, remote start & front sport bumper trim. I installed running board, splash guard set, rear bumper protection and rear bumper sports trim. I'm planning to get 3M Crystalline 70 on windshield, Formula One Pinnacle 30 on front windows and Xpel Ultimate on full front end of the MDX.

The $1000 is NOT military. It's an Acura finance incentive available to all. On June 6th, I financed the minimum possible amount ($10,000) to obtain the incentive which must be carried for 3 months - and then can be paid off.

IIRC the incentive runs until early July.

You need to break down the price without tax because people have no idea what % tax you paid.

My dealer never mentioned this. Do you have link to this information from Acura somewhere? It's too late for me since I paid for it all ready but others may benefit from the official information.

You would think if you go to Acura and look at special offers on MDX this would be listed.

I have no idea if it's listed on any Acura website as it was pitched to me from all three dealers I was negotiating with. It was referred to as Acura Financial "Flex Cash."

I would definitely inquire with your dealer as if currently purchasing as I obtained the incentive just 10 days ago and was told it runs till early July.

Always find sell price and then have the dealership give you the "out the door" price to ensure all fees are laid out for you. If anyone needs help or a walk through, feel free to PM me.

Not sure about CA area but I think it's a great sale price. Of course they got you a little bit on the 1K worth of accessories which you could have probably saved another 200-300$. Congrats on the new MDX!

What is a good price for an Advance SH-AWD in the Bay Area? Not sure what to ask for in the email. We're trying to buy one before the end of the week.

Thanks

Ask for $1K under invoice.

This weekend should be a great time to buy because it is end of month and end of calendar quarter. And 2014s need to be moved because 2015 have been hitting lots for a couple of weeks.

Make sure email every dealer within 50 miles. 12 may say no but one will likely say yes. There is no way to tell who will give it to you. Even if they come back with a poor deal like $2000 off MSRP, reply and tell them you want $1K under invoice. Some will end up dropping their price immediately.

2014 MDX Base AWD in Columbus Ohio

I'm getting ready to purchase a 2014 MDX AWD base model in Columbus, Ohio. I sent an email requesting price quotes to 6 dealers. So far, I have an offer for invoice and one for $300 below invoice - both offers from dealers that are 100 miles away. Our local dealer that is 5 miles away (and where we service our current MDX) wants to call me to discuss - I replied that I prefer email.

Should I hold out for $1000 under invoice? I also want to have roof racks and cross bars installed - do I ask for that after agreeing to price? What price should I shoot for with racks installed?

If you don't ask for $1K under the answer is no. If you ask maybe they'll say yes. At this point it's better to talk on the phone. Don't be scared. Decent offers in your pocket anyway but far away. 14s are going fast so act fast.

Rails and cross bars will cost you $800 on the low end to $1300. Different dealer = different quotes.
