Does the 2014 have magnetic shocks or not?

I NEED this feature, it is awesome on my 2007 Sport. Can't get a straight answer from the clueless salespeople. If available what trim package has it? I drove one with some "sport" mode on it and it didn't do jack, just made the steering stiffer from mush to less mush.

The active suspension is gone. It's been replaced by amplitude reactive dampers -- multi-port dampers.

I guess Acura listened to grandmas and not to the people who actually purchase Acuras.

If I wanted a mush ride I would've bought a JX or RX. This sucks.

The 2014 MDX is far from a mush ride. If I have mine in sport mode it rides and handles just like my 2011 MDX. I use the normal mode when I am on the highway. I drove the JX the same day I bought I MDX and it is no where near as good of ride.

On my 07 Sport when I hit sport the susp firms up quite a bit and is a blast to drive.
Sorry but I think the 14 is way too soft. Similar to comfort on mine. Why Acura?

It's a more compliant ride, and while subjectively it might feel like it should handle worse, most reviews seem to say it actually handles better. Acura certainly claims that to be the case.

Why not run some timed laps to convince yourself then?

Don't need timed laps, what dealership is going to let me take it to the track lol
Driving the 14 and 07 back to back it's pretty obvious the 14 is super soft Lexus like.
Oh well... Nothing to do but complain about it now.

Well, it is actually faster by 8 seconds at the 'Ring than the old car. The new shocks are certainly more compliant on initial bite, but stiffen as larger suspensions movements are needed. Thus, subjectively it might feel less 'sporty' but it's hard to argue with the objective results.

According to Honda, the "IDS" setting will also change the responsiveness of the SH-AWD. This may contribute to the 8-sec faster lap time for the 2014 MDX over it's predecessor, especially going through curves and corners.
