CMBS saved us from a wreck

Last night driving on the horribly jammed 405 freeway, Collision Mitigation Braking System saved us from a surely front end collision. I was trying exit off the freeway checking the passenger mirror when all of the sudden traffic came to dead stop in front of us. I heard the BRAKE warning light came on, seat belts retracted and the car slammed on the brakes. Scared me half to dead, but it did stop the car in time. We weren't traveling very fast, maybe 3-5mph. I was surprised how quickly the car can applied the brakes...way faster than my quickest reaction. Without CMBS, I surely would have rear-ended the car ahead. Nice job Acura!

CMBS for the win!!!

Saved you from front end damage and possible injury to passengers in both vehicles. The only issue I have with CMBS (which isn't CMBS fault) are folks tailgating when the system kicks in.

Yup! It slammed on pretty quickly. I was afraid we'd get rear-ended.

Good stuff! I have often wondered if having CMBS faster than a human to stop a front end collision adds to the odds of being rear-ended in a circumstance like yours because the driver behind you doesn't have CMBS. Chicken or egg?

I've always thought a rear cannon would be a good addition
