Anyone consider 2014 Lexus GX460?

The Lexus is a truck based SUV based on the Tacoma. It is clumsy, slow, thirsty and has less space than the MDX, if you thought the third row of the X is tight you would be in for a surprise. The only highlight in the whole package is that its very adept off road and tows more than the MDX. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. BTW neither does the rest of the market those things rot on Lexus lots.

BTW its such a slow seller that they cut 5k off the price in case some one were to be dumb enough to cross shop it with an mdx. The truth they aren't even on the same planet, the GX is for places where there aren't any roads and you happen to be too poor to buy a land cruiser or a range rover. For example the 7th cousin of Saudi Arabian royalty when a Toyota emblem would be an embarrassment

Initially I wasn't a big fan of the goldfish mouth front but it's starting to grow on me. Definitely looks more "masculine" than the MDX but when you start looking at things that matter - at least for us (rear sitting space, MPG, and 0-60 etc), you know MDX is the winner.

I like it the look on other lexuses, on the GX it looks tacked on and ugly. I like the look on the new MDX much better. On my MDX sport I never liked the shield but I liked the rest of the car, after the MMC I liked the front better but it still looked too busy with some superfluos "whiskers". The new one maybe may not be exactly beautiful but at least its not offensive in any way and the LEDS looks great.

I did. But I like the previous gen styling better.
Plus the Lexus is more expensive and less fuel efficient. We stopped there.

The GX is a very capable off-roader and for those looking for that aspect in a true SUV, cannot go wrong with it. I nearly got the 2014 model based on the time I spent with my cousins loaded 2013 GX. It's a great drive (very Lexus-esque) and the roar of the V8 can really call out to the testosterone inside you. It's got all the bells and whistles you would expect from a Luxury branded off-roader, if you love thumping bass, then the Mark Levinson audio will pump out more than what my ELS has been giving, and other than hampering gas mileage, it was still (nearly) on par with the 2013 MDXes despite having 2 more cylinders. Add to it the air-suspension and KDSS (read up on it) and you would be amazed how a body-on-frame SUV can behave so sedately on the highway. It has the same under-pinnings as the 4Runner, which itself has been doing well.
Once my '14 MDX is paid off, I will more than likely get the new design, which to my eyes is a phenomenal implementation of the Lexus spindle grill, along with the whitened tail-lights.
And that swing out rear door
