2017 MDX soot/rust on chrome exhaust

Hello All,
I am considering buying a pre-owned 2017 MDX with 15k miles. I noticed rust/soot on one of the exhaust tips.
Sales rep who was helping me tried to clean if off with a rag, but it did not help much.
Is this a common/known problem with MDX? Could this indicate any issues with engine causing excess heat and smoke?
I am having second thoughts about proceeding with purchase because of this? Appreciate any feedback and suggestions.

Normal if not excessive. Use flitz, it takes it right off.

My ‘17 has it. Seems normal with others I’ve see as well. My wife’s 12 TL tips have it as well, just not as visible as the MDX. Go for it!

I have a 17’ w 30k miles and i do have “soot” visible on both tips. Havnt noticed any issue w it burning oi
