It's simply more responsive when you mash the throttle and it downshifts quicker at highway speeds on urgent overtake.

I agree, the 6 speed is a proven transmission with no issues. That is the main reason I just leased a 2015 at a great price to boot. I did not want to be a Beta Tester and with the lease rates now in effect-this was too good a deal to pass up. In three years when all of the bugs are out of the 9 speed, I will be ready for one.

The 2015 model right now with the incredible lease packages through Acura, and the crisp shifting 6-speed are a perfect package for lower cost and higher mpg ratings than the 2016.

Great package, regardless, unless for some reason you must have Adaptive Cruise, etc. in the Acura Watch package.

We're selling a ton of 2015's, especially even higher trim level models. No vehicle in this class still gets close to touching what the MDX offers with it's combination of performance.

About to lease a 15 AWD tech. Is $5K off sticker about what the 15's are going for? Or even better?

Yes that is what I paid-great price that some dealers will not match.

Hi,

I'm thinking of leasing an MDX, and haven't found the basic info. Can you help?

Miles per year 10K
Residuals at 24 and 36 months?
Money factor? (for 24 and 36 if different)

Does Acura finance reduce the money factor with additional (multiple) security deposits made up front (as BMW does, allowing up to 4 or 5 to reduce the money factor 0.0001 (or such))?

Is there a special lease offer for 2015 only?

Does Acura run special lease offers t various times of the year, with subsidized higher residuals. (For explanation of what I'm getting at, BMW is running one for an X1 model with 68% residual at 36 months. Obviously subsidized.)

Thanks!

Residual on 10K 36 months is 61% money factor .00059 (1.416) for 35 payment sign and drive or .00069 (1.656) for 36 months if you put money down or pay inception fees up front. These are the best lease terms Acura has offered and were introduced in early January so they can increase lease penetration which has been lower than other comparable makes. With the great discounts on the 2015's, the lease is very very attractive. I do not think there is a special lease rate on the 2016's yet. I am thrilled with this vehicle and don't believe the 2016's higher price at this date makes sense-but each has to drive both and decide. This SUV is tremendous and either the 2015 or 2016 will keep a smile on your face.

I am missing somethings here. How can a 9 speed DCT have poorer mileage than a 6 speed with a torque converter ? It should get ~15% better mpg. If it is accurate, why did Acura go through the expense to change ?

My suspicion is that mileage is tested at one speed (e.g., 55 mph) and people drive at another (e.g., 70+). Especially outside the U.S.

I have noticed that mileage on my 2014 MDX sucks when I am on long highway drives where the realistic speed is 70+. Whereas my 9-speed TLX loves 70 and really wants to even faster (it seems happiest at 80+ LOL).
