I have my lights installed by an Acura dealership in Tustin, California; last year. I would like to share with the community. The beam pattern from the passenger side isn't good as I expected it to be. Possible defective unit? I would like to read your inputs, thank you.
Can it be adjusted? Photo one is the passenger side, photo two is driver side. I do not like what I see from the passenger side. I have checked the instruction. The lights can only be adjusted higher or lower. please, this is urgent. Thank you folks.
There should be a screw on the bottom of the foglight housing where you can adjust the level. I know under the bumper panel there should be a hole where you can access a long screw driver and turn the screw.

Yes, but will that help? from photo #2, driver side, the beam looks sharper than photo #1, and according to the e-instruction, the lights can only adjust higher or lower.
Seem like one side is aiming higher than the other so I assume you can adjust it to balance on both of them.
Or just find a flat place and shine it at the wall. So you can get a better picture of how it should be aim. It is hard to tell on those shot as they are angle shots

Also, I've been curious; whether the unit can be adjusted while placing the lights into the bumper housing. Do you know anyone who has the similar setup?
Unit meaning the Foglight assemble? If so it should be already installed onto the bumper housing no?

My apologies for the confusion, I meant the foglights for both driver and passenger; whether we can adjust left to right or vice versa or they just sit on the grooves of the plastics (black pieces)
Adjusting left and right rather than up and down? Umm........I think you can but I don't recall seeing an adjustment for the left and right on the foglight assembly on the back of the unit. Only know the adjustment for up and down. Do you recall who installed your foglight? Was it DIY or dealer? You might need to either go under the car or have the car in a lift and inspect if everything are installed correctly. Sometimes there might be a gap when installing that may cause your foglight adjustment is off. You might double check on that.
My answer to your question "just for looks": yes and no. They do have a purpose and it does improve appearance. Eyes of the beholder. Some may say for looks only, some may say its more than just looks.
MY 09 TL, I recall those fogs were up and down adjustment too.
We had some thick fog this past week. In my opinion the fog lights are pretty disappointing. I don't think they help much at all.
I had a gen1 mdx and those fog lights made a huge difference.

Maybe bc Jewel Headlights are so darn good vs. prior gen?
Also FYI, the beam on the headlamp on driver side tends to be less distance than the passenger side.
Thank you KB, please upload your pictures so I can compare. The one thing that bothers me is the beam pattern from the Driver side looks sharper than the one on the Passenger side.
The first picture, as you can see the beam from the Driver side seems to be shaped like an eagle wing. As for the Passenger side, I don't know what shape we would call it as.
If you have a chance, can you take a frontal shot like how I took the picture of my so I can see how it would look? Try to adjust the aperture of your camera if you are taking night shot. The darker the exposure will reduce the glare and you can see much better of the beam of the foglight.
Did you have to make any adjustments to your lights, KB?

I did not make any adjustment after it was installed. I brought the LED Foglight from my dealership and I had my friend shop installed it. So they did all the adjustment which I doubt there is. It's pretty much take out the bumper and install the kit by following the instruction i provided for them.

Congrats on your 16 MDX! I too like the LED fog lamps, just stopped by the local dealership to install the metal bumper protector and to readjust the beam angles on the fogs. I had the technician re-adjust the fogs to aim higher than the original setting.
OK, so I had the OEM fog lights installed over the weekend. The beam is perfectly level and appears to be very well centered left to right....the only thing I would prefer is if the beam itself were adjusted slightly higher than it is currently. NOT high enough to be aimed at oncoming drivers or others in front of me. Just slightly higher, so that I can see a little more of it on the ground in front of the vehicle. It is currently very low.
The installation instructions show a screw of some type for the vertical adjustment, but there is a shroud covering the entire vehicle underneath the front bumper. The fogs are completely inaccessible from above, so either this shroud must be removed to make the adjustment or there is a trick to open a sufficient portion of it to make the adjustments.
Anyone familiar enough with this to give me some instructions? I prefer yellow fogs and like the look of KB1Spec's MDX, so I have ordered the yellow Lamin-X film. With the film and a small upward adjustment, I'll be all set.
OK. Received and applied the yellow Lamin-X film today, but really would like to adjust the beam up just slightly. Anybody done this DIY and if so, what's the easiest way to access the adjustment screw on the fogs? Thanks.
