Wheel lock compatibility?

Before I spend $50 on oem wheel locks, I was hoping to see if someone knows if I could just safely use the oem wheel locks from my old 2010 MDX on my current 2019 MDX hybrid. They look the same but they're different part #'s so I didn't know if there might be enough of a difference that they could cause a weight imbalance or other issue. The part # for the 2010 is 08w42-sja-201a and the 2019 is 08w42-tk4-200. Any advice? Thanks!

I have a 19 MDX Hybrid also. The only issue I have with factory OEM wheel locks is everyone has a key. I don't need to bring a key if I get my vehicles serviced at Acura, Discount Tires, Firestone, etc... I went with Gorilla Wheel Lock with a unique key: 38641N 14mm X 1.50 chrome Ball locks around $34 on Amazon. I'm also thinking about converting to black lugs and wheel locks since I have the OEM 20" Black Berlina rims:

Black Lugs Nuts: 08W42-TZ5-200B
Black OEM Wheel Locks: 08W42-TZ5-200

I have Gorilla locks also on my other 3 Acura's with aftermarket rims (they use cone lugs/locks). I might have to paint my 19 MDX Gorilla lock black to match the other black lugs when I switch.

Assuming they're both 19mm nuts, weigh your 2010 lock nut and 2019 lug nut and compare. I don't think a few grams difference will make your car vibrate noticeably. I've lost keys a few times, no longer use them, took the lock nuts off. I believe McGard still supplies Acura lock nuts.

Acura dealers, Discount Tires and other reputable tire shops should have their own master key.

Back in the 1980 - 90's I had a CJ7 with some very nice and expensive Enkei rims. I kept locks on them. One day I was doing a home loan for an ex-con. He knew the CJ was mine and he said to me, I'd do more than that to protect those rims from thieves. It would take all of about 15 seconds to steal them. How I asked, they have locks" He said easy, you remove 4 lug nuts on each wheel leaving just the lock. Throw something under each corner of the car to catch it like a cinder block then cut the parking brake cable and then rock the car while it rolls a few inches. The remaining stud snaps that fast and off you go with the wheels. So if you want to protect your wheels from anyone except a casual thief, put two locks on each wheel in opposing locations so the wheel won't rock. The nice thing about a factory rim is that everyone else has them too. It is like swimming with other people when there is a shark around, chances are the shark will grab someone else..... which is also why divers use the buddy system..... .

I have double wheel locks on all 4 of my Acura's since they have aftermarket rims. I just purchased Gorilla wheel locks and OEM locks for my 19 MDX with Black Berlina rims.

Did you order the OEM black wheel locks? If so, is the part number for a set (4) or individual? I have the same question for the lugs.

There a probably cheaper places to order the black lugs/locks on-line; but, I just went with OEM Acura Parts: https://www.oemacuraparts.com/

08W42-TZ5-200B Lug nut (black), $42.00 for a set of 4 lugs. You will need 4 sets of 4 @ $42 each X 4 = $168
08W42-TZ5-200, Black Wheel Lock Nut (M14), $57.40 for a pack of 4 with key

I ordered 3 sets of black lugs, 1 set of OEM black wheel locks, and Gorilla Wheel Lock with a unique key: 38641N 14mm X 1.50 chrome Ball lock for $34 on Amazon. I wanted to double-lock my wheels like with my other vehicles. Only issue is the Gorilla locks only come in chrome. Going to try and paint match with the black lugs so they won't stand out so much. Should have everything done by the end of July or start of August.

I've gone coast-to-coast at +20,000 miles per year with +550,000 miles between my Acura's (just added the hybrid a few months ago). Only issue I've had was someone stealing my red Acura valve stem covers a few times.
