What's everyone paying for 2016 MDXs
I pinged a certain dealer claimed to be largest Acura dealer in US and asked them if they would sell a 2016 SH AWD Advance for 45k OTD. Given the invoice on that is about 51k, that would be a sales price of 42k, so 9k under invoice. Do I smell BS from the sales person. Same dealer I bought by 2006 TL when it was new for 4k under invoice.

I've never seen a 2016 go for that low (my process was purely through email of all the dealerships in a 100 mile radius). 45k OTD here in Cali gets you a 2016 FWD base with AWP at most, maybe a tech. For SHAWD, the 2016 TECHs here go for 45k SALES PRICE, which is $5k off MSRP, not invoice. OTD with Cali tax is about 49k. So, 45k OTD for a SHAWD Advance? Seems a wee bit off the mark.

Turns out a certain dealer in NoVA tried to BS me into coming in "for a test drive", and when I pressed them that I need this deal sent to me in writing before my visit, started giving me crap. LOL

I am searching around Houston, and the best quotes im getting "Drive Out" is $50,000 for a new 2016 awd tech. My sister bought the same model except a 2014 model a couple years ago around the same time, and she got it for $43k Drive out brand new. Is the 2016 model THAT much better and did inflation jump that much higher in 2 yrs?

Basically same here. I got $5K off in OC CA for a 2016 SH-AWD Tech white/ebony.
I haggled for a week with local dealers and the best price came in at $46,210 + TTL (MSRP $50,210).
In looking at these prices, it seems the bigger market volume can dictate $5K off; I know in markets like Hawaii and Canada, '16 MDXs can go for MSRP or even a markup.

There are no cash incentives needed on the MDX, and the SH-AWD Advance only has a $3600 spread from MSRP to invoice. Period.
You sending in offers like that will only get ignored, if not just told right away that it's not happening. Keep in mind even a used 2014 MDX AWD Advance right now would sell for close to $45k.
If you get anything below $52k, take it and be thrilled. If you're not going to spend that much, you need to look at a different trim level all together.
Your TL back in the day is no comparison, as there were cash incentives to make it be that far below invoice.

Local dealer has a few '16 shawd tech demos that are certified for about that price. Is the longer b2b and 7/100k worth taking the chance that these have been essentially beat on? The 15 and 14 seem like terrible deals as they are no more than 2-3k less. Shouldnt a 14 awd tech be well under 40k and a 15 for close to 40k (test drove one listed at 44k)?
