Update on all weather mats

Finally, winter is receding from northern WI. Though the Acura mats did an admirable job, they were a little short for the drivers side and my wife's snow and salt logged shoes. I ordered a pair of weathertech liners for the front seatwells since you can't just order for the drivers side. The liners fit perfectly and cover the entire footwell even the area under and behind the pedals plus the foot rest, thus, its impervious to junk everywhere . The material is not the thick pliable rubber or the Acura mats, its thinner harder plastic, but seems more than sturdy enough, I hope it doesn't scratch. So to sum it up, the Weathertech liners fit perfectly, cover the entire drivers footwell (the only shortfall of the OEMs), but their plastic (?durability) is a little lower than the OEM. Price 109 bucks +shipping which is a little steep for only 2 mats. I'll let you guys know how they hold up through the summer and next winter.

I wonder if the driver's side shortness has to do with accelerator pedal liability issues i.e. Toyota...

100% convinced it does. Note weather tech uses a totally different category for the product name. Its not a floor mat, its a floor liner. The fact is that unless you put the thing over the gas pedal while installing it, its virtually imposibble for it to interfere with the pedals, however, Im sure some numbnuts can find a way to do it!

True, but the mats don't cover anymore than OEM mats and don't have that perfect fit that the liners do.

sounds like weathertech floormats are better than the all-season floormats from acura. but it is worth double the cost?

I ordered the weathertech mats for the back seat and did their trunk pad (have had their trunk piece in every vehicle the family has owned, love em.

The back seat fits flawlessly. Thinking about doing hte fronts but no real need here; the backs are good for the kids.

I am happy with OEM weather mats because now I get to install the MDX petals with foot rest that I order will be in next month . I take a while to make and cut.
