Tire rotation

The "A1" service reminder shows up on MID for my 2014 MDX. I have no question on the oil change but should I do the tire rotation as well? My car has about 6,000 miles on it. Thanks.

Is your vehicle FWD or sh-awd?

I find the tires wear more evenly at all four corners with sh-awd since all wheels are being driven. The down side to this is you sometimes don't get the advertised tire tread-life from certain brands. I usually get much more wear with just FWD on the front tires and tire rotation evens out the wear and helps the tires last longer. Sometimes you don't notice tread depth differences at only 6,000 miles.

I would still keep to the M.I.D. schedule, especially:
- if you drive your MDX hard in the corners (extra wear on outer tread)
- tires start to get noisy (Cross rotate them), and
- if you notice uneven wear anywhere on the tread.

I got the A1 service done at about 6500. You can wait till the MID shows < 10% oil and then get the oil change and tire rotation done.
