Taking delivery - what to make sure dealer does?
Hey guys,
Taking delivery this weekend likely. Are there some things I need to make sure the dealer does to the car before leaving? Activate AcuraLink or XM radio or anything else like that? Thanks in advance!
Looking forward to seeing the Advance in Black/ebony with accessories (fog lights, front sport trim, advanced running boards, body side moldings ... Heated steering wheel, cargo liner, all weather mats). I will be sure to post pics ASAP.

Dealer will setup AcuraLink - probably in the finance office or they'll have a separate workstation for it. You'll enter basic information and choose a password. Then you need to download the app on your phone or tablet and follow the instructions. You'll get all the features (I believe) for like 3 or 6 months. Then you have to pay for the items that people actually want. The XM comes free and activated for 3 months. After trial period, it will expire and prompt you to call XM.
Other than that, just look the car over with a fine-toothed comb and you should be good. Wish you success and happiness!

^^this and make sure they actually removed all the freaking adhesive on the paint from the wrap that was on the car when it was delivered esp the roof. or just take care of it yourself, since most dealer detail depts aren't really that good.

I'm reviving this thread in the hopes that some MDX owners have come up with additional ideas of what to do/not do on delivery day since this thread was started nearly 5 months ago.
I take delivery on my AWD Tech this Saturday, Feb 1st.

go over the entire car.
-make sure everything works
-make sure the gaps in the panels aren't off
-paint (go ahead and ask your sales guy for a bottle of touch paint while you can still get it for free)
-check the wheels
-peek at the roof and the license plate area for spots missed by the detail dept (the adhesive....i saw tape and residual adhesive left over in these areas on a lexus RX).
-get your manuals, keys.....
-make sure all head rests are in place
...i can't think of anything else right now...if you find stuff wrong with the car, report them immediately to the dealer.
