This is also posted in CarTalk by mistake. Does anyone know if the 2nd row captain seats recline more than the bench seat? Similar to the front seats? Thanks.

 

I don't think they recline at all. I maybe wrong as I had the 3rd row folded so it may have prevented second row to go backwards

 

The second row on the Advance will recline, a little. And they will slide forward and aft. From the folded flat position you raise them to the first detent, then there are two more short detents past that position. But it does not recline as much as the front row. FYI

Thanks for the info. Wife took a long ride in back seat of our 2016 MDX and was very uncomfortable. She was hoping the 2nd row captain seats would be more comfortable by reclining like the front seats.

 

They're supposed to recline even with the 3rd row folded down. The headrests of the 3rd row fold straight down in the well to allow for that. If your 2nd row doesn't recline with the 3rd row down, there may be an issue (or it may have already been reclined all the way.. the 2nd row really doesn't recline enough IMO).

 

I unfolded 3rd row and rechecked. The second row would only recline one increment. I folded forward and back several times to make sure.
