RDX to MDX?

Has anyone went from a 2013 or 2014 RDX to a 2014 or 2015 MDX? Is the difference worth it?

Depends on your needs and wants. If size isn't an issue then check out the HVAC and radio controls on each. Touchscreen in MDX is a pain and unsafe.

Just traded our 2013 RDX AWD w Tech for a 2015 MDX SH-AWD w Tech. The RDX was a great vehicle, we just wanted a larger SUV With more interior room.

Our new MDX is better riding, and the Tech package in the 2015 is more user friendly. And the SH-AWD is great.

Have no experience with an RDX but I had a loaner 2013 MDX Tech and I can say that the controls on my 2014 MDX is easier to use. Of course, if you only have it for a couple of days you're still on the learning curve, just like with any new cars. But once you're used to it and master the script to use the voice control, it's very easy.

It really depends if you need the room/towing or not (or you are looking for a bump in luxury). The 13-15 RDX is about 1 cycle behind the current Acura line-up. The MDX is a big step up in luxury/tech compared to the current RDX. It will be at-least up to date with the 2016 MMC due next year to look like the current vehicles in interior looks, LED headlights and tech. Whatever bugs the 14-15 MDX might of had should be nearly worked out by the 2016 RDX MMC. It sounds like the 2016 RDX will be a 5 passenger version of the MDX in base/tech/Adv levels. The only thing that might be missing is sh-awd on the RDX. It is just a SWAG; but, I think you should be able to get a maxed out 4wd 2016 RDX Adv $3000-$5000 cheaper than a fwd 2016 MDX tech (assuming you don't need the extra room or towing).

There will be plenty of new on the lot 2015 RDXs and 15/16 MDXs available if you don't like the 2016 MMC RDX.

We also traded our well loved 2013 RDX in on a 2015 MDX.

We needed more space inside and I wanted more towing.
The MDX is great. The tech is a nice step up. I seriously miss the heated seat and HVAC sync buttons. Having them part of the touch screen is a pain. I wouldn't trade back just for that however.

Be prepared for the to change from an RDX wTech to an MDX wTech to be a bit of a step down in features. There are some things they leave out for the higher tier models of the MDX.

From a performance perspective, MDX actually has the edge...see MotorTrend.
