Proper Placement Of Body Side Moldings

Does anyone know the proper placement of the body side moldings on the 2014 MDX ? I have seen a few MDXes including my own but I see that the moldings are installed in slightly different locations. Some right on the body line, some right below the body line and some as much as 2 inches below the body line. I know the molding kit comes with a stencil for placement but it looks like no one around my area is using it. Maybe someone can upload photos of an MDX with Body side moldings installed in the correct location?

The "correct location" is the one specified inside the factory installation instructions using the accompanied templates. This is the official location specifically designed by Acura to attach it's MDX moldings.

Any deviation from this official location is deemed "incorrect" by Acura.

However, body side moldings, even when installed in their official location, may not necessarily always look best.

So placement is purely a personal taste, and there is no "correct" or "incorrect" location.

Try moving them around and stand back from a distance in order to find which location suits your personal taste the best.
