Just finished installing the splash guard to our MDX. It’s an optional accessories for 2019 model (factory color match/painted). For those of you interested of installing an Advance Running Board and Splash guard this is what it looks like.

Looks good.
Were they OEM painted or you got them painted?

Is it the picture, or do the whites not exactly match?

Thanks for sharing this, I have a white 19 Advance (color matching lower trim and color matching splash guards) and I was wondering what running boards would look like with the black against white

Acura OEM, for the 19’ models the splash guard are painted/color match.

That’s what I thought also, but the plastic bumper vs the metal body panels will always be off color due to different materials. However, the color from my bumper and the OEM splash guard do match.

Only thing I don't like is the rocker panel is black on the Advanced Running Board. It doesn't match body color rocker panel of rest of the car. We have Sport Hybrid with all white rocker panels, much like yours. But I supposed it have to be black, doing it body color would be too expensive and looks odd. Do you find your pants rubbing against the running board and getting dirty when you get in/out of the car? Wife wants running board, but I'm talking her against it due to reasons I listed.

That's my concern as well I have a white 19 Advance which has white rocker panels and splash guards like the pics and hybrid and I'm not sure I'd like the black from the running boards with rest of the car being white looks out of place

Save yourself $400 for the Advance running board, it doesn’t serve well. We bought it same day we took delivery of the car because the wife wants it, I am thinking of to put back the original side rocker garnish. It does gets in the way getting in and out (annoying).

But, wife gets a lot of compliments at work, how her MDX looks great.

Yeah, glad you confirmed my theory that the running board gets in the way and just dirty up your pants. My wife is kinda short at only 5', so I can see why she wants it. But step in height is not that bad for me and I'm that not tall myself.
I kinda like how the silver piece is gone on lower rocker panel with the Running Board. IMO this MDX have way too much silver trims. If the MDX was mine, I would chrome delete everything silver and PlastiDip the emblems black..would look sick..a la A-spec Sport Hybrid
Probably will PlastiDip her emblems this weekend. I doubt she would even notice..LOL.

Only reason I was considering them was for little kids as it helps them climb in and out instead of having to lift them every time but definitely think for normal size adults they'd just get in the way

I wonder what it would look like if just the front splash guards were changed to black to blend in with the running boards while leaving the rear spash guards white? Yes the front and back splash guards won't match, but at least they don't butt up against one another with the rear wheel breaking up the space. Has anyone tried this?

An interesting point to make here. The splash guards for a 2019 MDX Base or Tech are black. The splash guards for a 2019 MDX Advance are color matched. I just verified this in the Honda eStore just to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering things. Pretty sure it has to do with the more extensive color matched trim panels in the Advance. Anyway, if you want black ones in the front that match the texture of the black lower trim, order part 08P00-TZ5-200A .

That's the crux of the issue. the advance and hybrids beginning in 19 have body matched lower trim instead of black, hence the color matched splash guards. But the running boards still are in black and are not color matched. so if you have a 19 advance/hybrid and get the color matching splash guards but decide to install the advance running boards (which are black) you'll have color matched splash guards in front connecting directly to the black running boards.

Which is why i was curious how it would look to have black splash guards in front with the advance running boards while still having color matched splash guards for the rear
