MDX Nav Screen

Hello All:

The wife is vacillating between an MDX and an RDX. Prefer the RDX size, but she's not a big fan of the interior. We owned a second gen MDX (2008) and loved it.

What is a deal breaker for the RDX right now is the fact that you cannot adjust the scale on the nav screen.

Is that feature available on the MDX? She likes it zoomed in when in the city and zoomed out on the highway. I realize that may sound a bit petty to some, but for $50K+ I guess you should not have to settle on something that's important to you.

Thanks!

The MDX nav screen is similar to most pre-2019-RDX screens, in that you can zoom in and zoom out. Also with the most recent generations of the Acura nav you can choose the orientation, including driving direction-based, "North Up", or a 3D mode. It's interesting to me that that '19 RDX doesn't allow zooming or changing of the NAV settings.....

That seems like an odd software change. MY TL had that zoom feature.

This is likely only a bug and is likely to be addressed in the relatively near future. If this is the only reason you are looking to pass on the RDX if you can afford to wait a bit you can see if this gets addressed either in current vehicles or is fixed for next year models. With the new RDX being a complete redesign there are a host of issues they have had and Acura is working through those issues. that's normal for brand new models their 1st year on the market.

that's assuming you meant the newly redesigned RDX that has a completely new infotainment system. if last years model then infotainment is nearly identical to the MDX and likely isn't much different (except MDX 18+ has Android Auto and Apple Carplay
