Now that the current MDX has a single evaporator and heating core for 3 zones, has anyone experienced heating or cooling issues to the second or third row.

I would like to know too...is this an effective system (as they say) or just cost cutting?? My problem with this is that the new 2016 Pilot seemingly has 3rd row vents...is this a bonus or does the new Pilot not have this "advance" MDX AC system? MDX, as i undestand it, has never had 3rd row vents, right? Pilot always does.
For me, i prefer 3rd row vents, but don't have enough experience with my car to know how good this new system is.

I think the reason is Acura tried to remove as much weight as possible.
3rd row only has heating vents under the 2nd row seats, I really don't know why they did not put an AC vent in the 3rd row. Knowing that the 3rd row would most likely be used by kids.
Aside from that, I find the hvac adequate. I had mine set at 70 and synced.
I already had mine last summer and it cooled the car quickly and tested it in zero deg temp last month and it warmed the car quickly too.

it would set all the temperature in the passenger seat and 2nd row with the driver's.
For example, you set the driver to 70, the passenger to 75, and 2nd row to 73. When you use the Sync, it will all be set to 70 (I think it would be set to the driver temp) and all you just need to do is change one of the temp in any of the 3 zone and the rest of the zones will automatically be synced to the new temp entered. It will also follow the vents (face, foot, face/foot, etc). With this, it will help cool the whole car down faster in summer or vice versa in winter. And also, you are sure that you have temp set for your kids in the 2nd row. You can also lock the rear zone climate control.
If ,let's say, your wife, in the passenger seat, wants it a bit warmer, just turn off the sync and she can enter her own temp. Same with the 2nd row.
It is a really neat feature.

I have sat in the 3rd row and really wished that there were A/C vents back there. It gets warm and due to our car seat in the 2nd row it seems to block the vents from getting air to the 3rd row.
Oh also, when you just want the fresh air to enter the cabin (with fans off), I can't figure out how to make the fresh air to come in warm... If you turn the HVAC off, the temp controls blacks out and you can't adjust it. In our older cars, you just hit fresh air and turn the temp knobs to warm.....
