I guess I learn something new everyday! Todays lesson is the my 2020 MDX has aluminum an hood and fenders! I confirmed it with a magnet. The rest of the body panels appear to be steel.

I've had an issue with paint chipping exposing the gray primer with my fathom blue pearl on the forward facing hood area right above the LEDs/grill. I wonder if it a combo of aluminum hood and/or thinner paint? Did the paint touch up thing and added a paint protection film. Now would be the time to add PPF before the first chip happens.

Can't speak for the MDX, but when we had an '07 Ford Freestyle its hood was made of aluminum and there were issues with the underside of the hood corroding and having paint issues due to improper preparation. We got ours addressed under warranty. The warning sign was white powder showing up from under the paint.....
