Local Search in Navigation fails
Just as an FYI - "Local Search" in Navigation comes back with an error "unable to connect to service try again." That is a mass problem for all of us according to posts on another MDX forum. If you have a late model Gen 3 MDX, are PAYING for Connect or Premium Acura Link, and your "Local Search" feature fails with the error mentioned, please call Acura Tech support at 888-528-7876. It's about a 2 minute call. The more folks who call about it the sooner it will be escalated to being fixed. But if you like paying for something that you aren't getting, go ahead and don't call.

You don't mention what model year your MDX is nor if you have taken it in for service. My 2015 MDX has recently developed the same problem and I took it into the dealer. At the time I couldn't leave it for them to work on but after an hour of looking at it they didn't know what was wrong. I plan to take it back and leave it with them to fix while I get a loaner. The service advisor claimed he didn't have any info that others were experiencing the same problem so it is good to know it is not isolated to my car. On what other forums did you find similar comments?

local search problem fixed
I called into the Acura help line to complain about the "local search" function not working and was given the same explanation that they are working on it. I did ask them to let me know when it was fixed and I got a phone message early last week stating that it had been fixed. I checked on my MDX and verified that indeed it is now working again.

It's back!
When Acura notified me that this problem was fixed I checked my MDX and found that it was working again. When I checked it the other day it was not working again so apparently it is intermittent. Guess I'll have to call them back and complain again.
