Navigation search results not local

Hope someone here can shed some light on this -

My girlfriend bought an 08 RDX with Nav and when we put in addresses, it seems to work fine. However, when we try to search for places (like Dunkin' Donuts, for example) it gives us results that are thousands of miles away. In addition, it seems really limited with the results it gives us. Are we doing something wrong? Is there something wrong with the system? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My observation is that National Chain POI's (i.e. Dunkin Donuts, Home Depot etc.) are very weak, but that locally based POI's (Bob's Pizza, Jim's Hardware etc.) are reasonably good.

The owner's manual describes the correct way to search for POIs. If you follow their procedure (which may not be obvious), the results will be sorted by distance from your current location.

I learnt a trick with Dunkin' Donuts. You have to put the apostrophe after Dunkin, so "Dunkin'" When I did this it found the one right around the corner and other close ones. When I didn't include that it either couldn't find it or the closest was 1,000 miles away.

Yah the search by name isn't that great. It works if you know EXACTLY how your specific chain outlet is called. With spaces and punctuations (like the above poster said).
