Heated Steering Wheel

Anyone here add this option? First off, I'm glad that Acura has stepped up to offer this (have had on my BMWs since 2005) - but the price seems pretty steep ($800 list, $600 or so from dealer and yea, I think that is with $200 profit). Still, does it work well? Does the addition of the button on the steering wheel look OEM or like an add on? What did they do with your old wheel (I'm thinking that those are worth $ and I should ask for it back?)

We have it in our MDX Navi (Canadian market).
Love it! Heats up much faster (like 30sec) and much hotter than in my 2009 BMW.

Definitely worth buying (of course it is -25 degrees Celsius outside- so this is sort of a must have). Also loving the heater windshield.

I think it was $500 but I'm not 100% sure. Looks completely OEM ... just a different steering wheel. They installed ours wrong though so be careful ... Led to a creaking noise when turning the wheel. I love this option.

Comes standard on the Canadian MDX, and we love ours. Heats up fast, gets nice and hot, and is linked to the remote starter so on cold mornings it's pre-heated before we even get to the vehicle.

A must have on -20c Ottawa mornings.

Personally I think its too expensive. Its pretty much the only option I didn't get for our advanced model. I have the remote start which pretty much resolves the issue, unless you have to just jump in and go. I have to confess that on a few occasions when the temp has been well below zero, I would have welcomed it. Just note that it costs as much as a full size refrigerator and that brings it into perspective. I think that a pair of ten buck gloves are probably a much better deal for the few times it makes any difference.

Heated steering wheel is a very helpful feature, if your winters get really cold.

One of the best options I bought. I only did it because an Audi owner said it was the fave feature on their car. So I reluctantly spent what I thought was excessive $$$. After less than one Boston winter with the heated wheel I am a fan. Like earlier poster says, it heats up very fast, way faster than the seats. It really makes a difference. If you have the ability to pay the excessive amount, I would consider this option.

Have it and absolutely love it. Think it cost about $500 installed from the dealer. It heats up very quickly....

Heads up

As pointed out, the risk with a heated steering wheel (in the US) is that the dealer tech is installing it not the factory and let's just say, they put ours on crooked. Took 1.5 hours to fix.
