File Formats Supported in 2017 MDX ELS Audio System

Hello All,

Greetings.
I have been following the forum while doing my research before buying the car, but just joined recently.

I bought a 2017 MDX Elite and am facing issues with playing FLAC/WAV files from USB flash drive.
Tried formatting the 32GB drive in FAT32 with 32KB,16KB,8KB & 4KB cluster sizes and copied FLAC/WAV files in the root directory, in sub-directories etc and the system will not recognize any FLAC/WAV files.

To make sure it is reading the drive, I always copied an mp3 file and it was played without issues.
The owner's manual just mentions mp3, wma & aac formats in the USB playback section.

All the FLAC/WAV files are 44.1KHz 16 bit files and not higher bit rate or sampling rate.

Its a bit puzzling as audio CDs are working, but I cannot play WAV files from an USB drive.

Is it a known limitation? Or do I need to follow any particular format/cluster size or folder structure to make it work?

Thanks

I think you answered your own question. you say it support MP3, WMA and aac, consistent with what is in the owners manual. doesn't say it support WAV format. WAV is an uncompressed lossless PCM file format, Way different than MP3, WMA and AAC.
