I have my 2015 MDX for two weeks-using only Shell or Mobil premium-and I can tell the difference in both performance and fuel economy from the first tank (which according to the lot attendant was regular-to save the dealer a few bucks no doubt).

If an engine is tuned for premium by the manufacturer-don't second guess their decision.

I do agree. I bought the vehicle so I wouldn't risk it anyway. My older (2004) MDX had an issue when I used regular a few times- the engine light came on. I was jusr wondering what others thought.

+1. The dealer used lower octane gas on our first tank, and since then my wife has only used 93 octane and the gas mileage has improved and I could tell a difference in the performance.

I personally use diesel. Ultra-low sulfur of course. IF i use cheap diesel with high sulfur, my MDX stutters at times during start-up. I will ONLY stick to brand name diesel!

Stuck with this stupid CA CARB certified 91 piss water for fuel. I know of a couple of stations that sell 100 at the pump. I'm tempted to try a tank of that and see how it comes out.
