2016 MDX Sh-AWD Adv/Enter 41K miles

Just now, the dashboard reads "Emissions System Problem". Checked the gas cap & it's fine. I filled up the gas today and I'm really good about tightening to hear the click. Other than the recent big snow storm, I'm not aware of anything unusual.

Anyone?

 

When was the last time you had your Oxy Sensor checked? If you got some bad gas this could be your problem, Ask me how I know???

 

 

I've had the same problem twice in the past 9 months with a 2014 MDX Tech with 48K miles. First the Tighten Gas Cap light comes on and then the Emissions System Problem warning. The first time it happened, 9 months ago, I tightened but ultimately changed the gas cap. Drove around for several days and the light never went out. I disconnected and then reconnected the battery. Light did not come back on until last week. Same issue. I made sure the gas cap was tight. Disconnected and then reconnected the battery. I have driven about 15 miles since reconnecting the battery and no warning lights. If the warning reappears, I guess I will take it in for service to see if there is another underlying issue. Or perhaps a software update is needed as TLXinTX indicated.
