We just bought another house and they didn't leave the entrance gate remotes. We need to program our cars 2016 & 2008 MDX to open the gate. Any suggestions?

Call a gate company

 

some gates have programming button, but you may need to call a gate company

 

Ask the previous owners for the gate remote

 

I am not sure what gate operator you have but they should all be similar. Inside of the gate operator there should be a receiver. Much like your garage door, it has a learn mode. First you have to remove the gate operator housing and then take off the cover for the receiver. It should look something like this:

From there, you have to push the learn button and then get back into your car and hold down the Homelink button that you want to program it to. After the red LED on the Homelink changes its flashing rate, it is programmed. You can then test the gate by pushing the assigned Homelink button again.

Hopefully this helps but I am not sure what gate operator you have.
