Dimensions of cargo space with all seats down/removed

We're thinking of buying the 2014 MDX. Does anyone know the length, width and height (rear door opening and highest point inside) of the back/cargo space with the 2nd and 3rd row seats down or removed?

I know the cubic feet are published but we're needing the specific measurements.

Thanks!

Thanks! Do you know if the back door will stay down but not closed if you have cargo sticking out the back or will it beep and open back up? If the former, can you drive with the back door ajar? If the latter, is there a way to override the feature and drive anyway?

I checked the manual and didn't see anything regarding driving with the tailgate open. Sorry, but I don't want to test it on my vehicle.

This is a great thread. Thank you!

So it's interior height is only 28.5 inches tall? That is not very tall at all. I wonder how that compares to the RDX?

Ya, it's a little disappointing, but it's not too bad. The reason I started this thread is because I was hoping to get rid of my Expedition in addition to my Fusion if the 2014 MDX could haul nearly as big of stuff as it (my Expedition). With the 2nd down and 3rd row seat removed my Expedition measures 84" long x 48" wide x 36" high - it's been a godsend for furnishing and remodeling & renovating our home.

The 2014 MDX is shockingly close for its size at 79" x 45" x 28 1/2"

^^^^^

The Ford Expedition is a monster SUV in size.

There is virtually none other non-full-size SUV on the market that can match it's internal payload dimensions.

Just to be clear the the measured height and width was the tail gate opening.

I did find references to driving with the tailgate open in the manual.
Pg 66 re carbon dioxide poisoning
pg 128 recommends keeping tailgate closed to avoid damage and exhaust entering the vehicle

How about a small utility trailer. We tow a HF trailer whenever we need to haul large items that don't fit inside the MDX (2nd gen).
