Brake pedal noise normal I guess for a hybrid

I have noticed a brake pedal on my new 2020 MDX Hybrid. I took it into the dealer and they definitely hear the sound but they don't know if normal for a hybrid or not. The Acura dealer confirmed this noise on another brand new hybrid on the dealers lot. The non hybrids do not make this noise. I've included a video from youtube but it is not my car or even an MDX for that matter but the sound is similar.

Here is an actual copy of the noise taken from inside my MDX. Note: It doesn't matter if the engine is on or off. In this video the engine is off.

Doesn't sound normal. My 19 Hybrid doesn't make this sound at all. I just get the clunk in reverse if I'm parked on an incline.

I stand corrected!

My 19 MDX makes the exact same sound with everything off. I never noticed because I was distracted by all the other activities and noise starting the MDX at the same time. Now I can't un-hear it!

What a terrible squeaking noise! It sounds like rubber ducky...
My 2019 Hybrid does not do any sound at all.

Lalin - I bet it you out to you MDX with the engine and radio off and press the brake pedal you will probably hear the noise. The dealer didn't even know of this noise until I pointed it out.

Sorry Mrgold! One of the pitfalls of the engineering profession you notice small insignificant things.

I I’ll try it out tomorrow and report back.
I am a bit afraid now though....

After talking with the technician he explained the hybrid's have a different braking system and the noise we hear is part of the control module. I was curious and looked up the braking parts online and sure enough they are different. See the pic below. I find these little tidbits of information very interesting.

Non-hybrid braking system

Hybrid braking system
Note the electric control module

I kinda figured the hybrid might have a different brake system because of the Auto Start/Stop and EV mode. Is the hybrid a total brake by wire system or is there a mechanical back-up? How does the electronic parking brake, gear shift, brakes work if you are 100% out of AGM/EV battery power? Time to read the manual.

You never know maybe this also has something to do with the reverse clunk!

Technically you would have won the bet...
In complete silence I could hear a very soft squeak, which I had didn’t notice before.
However it was really mild, lower pitched and nothing close to what the original poster’s recorded.

Mine started doing the same thing, just not sure where exactly the sound coming, it only does when engine is ON, hit brake or accelerate pedals, So annoying sounds
