What about the best color or best oil? "Best" comes down to your own personal preference on cost and aesthetics because all of the hitch options accomplish the same task of hauling and towing. OEM is my best because of how its fully integrated into the rear fascia, but its maybe double the cost of the added-on looking aftermarket options.
Like @jbawden, I too prefer the OEM integrated hitch. Looks like it belongs, adds the transmission cooler, and just works nicely with the vehicle. Pricey, but I like it.
I opted for the Curt aftermarket option for hitch and plug-in wiring controller. About 1/3 the cost and works like a charm. Downside is it sits lower than the OEM setup, but not obtrusively so. But my experience with Acura/Honda OEM hitches is they don't hold up well in NH winters and tend to rust pretty quickly as compared to the Curt ones I've purchased in the past. Here's a pic of the Curt hitch installed. Fine in my view.....
Just purchased 2017 MDX, What is considered the best trailer hitch option.
Hi @Deadhorse,
Congratulations on the purchase! From our experience, trailer hitches by Curt are the most popular ones. We keep getting numerous positive reviews on them. Here is the link to the trailer hitch for your 2017 MDX.
